Got my SAT scores back, 660 reading, 640 writing, 650 math, and an 11/12 on the essay. Kicked the essay's ass, though apparently one of the judges felt my essay was exceptional while the other considered it to be only "pretty damn good." Maybe the second one couldn't see through my Dostoyevski misspelling.
Took the AP English test monday, bleh. Multiple choice wasn't terribly hard, one of the reading selections was awful. There's a big difference between skillfull, meaningful writing, and writing that's so wordy that you can barely grasp any sort of thematic message. But this shit went beyond that. I made it to the fifth question until i realised that the woman the author had written about was a writer AND an actress. And even so it was confusing, there was a question asking what her "scribblings" represented. The writer said she actually wrote them, making no implication to them being symbolic. It was a terribly made portion of the test.
The next day, i started feeling a little stuffy around 5PM. Woke up the next morning and i felt pretty shitty. Sore throat, really tired and achy. I had planned to skip after 3rd period that day, and my mom already knew that, so i just asked if I could stay home. As the day dragged on, I developed a fever, and a runny nose. I kept the same symptoms on thursday, and was forced to go to school friday with help from my little friend Benadryl. I had 2 tests within the first 3 periods. I made it to my 4th period and only 5 other classmates were there to accompany me. I got a pass from Prospy to the Deans office, got a checkout pass, and walked home.
Saturday, I woke up with all the same symptoms, and a brand spankin' new cough. Around noonish I had a 101 degree temperature. Around the time I would have been heading to prom (if I gave a flying fuck about it that is), I was in the fetal position in my bed under a comforter with sweat pants and a jacket on, shivering. My fever peaked at 102, it fucking sucked. I can't remember the last time I had such a high temperature. I forgot how much fun it was to have your eyes water from the heat given off by your eyelids when you close them. Watering is exactly the opposite of what your eyes should be doing when your eyelids are closed. Just like shivering is exactly the opposite of what you should be doing with an internal temperature that can almost kill brain cells.
Woke up this morning with a cough. I was sweating balls and felt reeeaaaly sore and tired. But now I don't feel all that bad. Just a lil' snippet of cough left over, no fever.
