Computer Issues StinnnkkkK!
So today...well last night actually...I started having computer problems. In the middle of my typing, nines started showing up...LOTS of them. It also exed me out of the site I was on. So I did a virus scan and it found nothing. But the nines kept typing by themselves and it was really hard to make them stop. So, after I signed off AIM and finished the virus scan, I shut it down and rebooted it. It just showed the Toshiba logo and then beeped like four times. By then it was like 6 in the morning and I had only had 5 hours of sleep..so I was in no position to be able to understand what was going on. I just kept turning it off and on and freaked out every time I heard the beep. Sooo...the only thing I remembered to do was put in the recovery disc I made with my uncle. So I put it in, started my computer back up and pushed F12 and then enter..and then my computer started up normally. It just had a bunch of nines as my password..And once I got in, the one two and three keys didn't work without setting off a bunch of nines and the nine key won't type at all. SO..I woke my brother up at 7 and we looked at my computer together. He researched the problem on his laptop, and said it sounded like a problem with the keyboard. So, we both went back to bed and decided we'd take it somewhere in the morning. So, when we got up, I heard my brother talking to my mother about how bad off my computer was. He was convinced the hard drive had crashed and that it would be tons of money to repair. That got me sooo freaked out. I got ready to go quickly and we took it to Geek Squad. The man that looked at it started my computer up right away by pressing control alt delete. The virtual keyboard he brought up worked fine, but still there was a problem with excessive nines. He said it was a keyboard problem and suggested we took it to a ma and pa shop nearby. So, we took it there and the repair man did a full diagnostic for free. He called me with the results and said everything with my computer was fine, it was just the keyboard that was messed up. He said it would be 80 dollars for a new keyboard including tax and ordered the parts I need! I was soooo relieved to hear that my computer hadn't crashed and that it was just a keyboard problem ^_^ So, he is going to call me on Monday or Tuesday when the parts get in and I have to bring it in to fix it. He said it could be fixed the same day, but we'll see. I'm just stressed because Monday is my birthday and Tuesday I'm going to see my adviser. It would be really inconvenient for him to call at certain times on either day. But it would be best if he called Monday..at least I won't be in the middle of something really important. I just want to get this all fixed for good @__@ Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I'm doing important stuff...it'd be a hassle any of those days to get it fixed..but my dad said he'd take it in for me if I can't. I WILL get this done! @__@ I will, and I SHALL. I hope it really fixes the problem.
