The dust is alive I tell you....

Been busy, social and finally tackling the feral dust around the house!

Went out for brunch this morning, and will be doing the same tomorrow, different people and location though.... When I got home from brunch today, settled in to attack the feral amounts of dust in my bedroom. Put Dr Who on, pulled out the vacuum, started cleaning (and sneezing).... Have managed to remove large amounts of dust from the carpet and furniture. My house is stunningly dusty, not because of a lack of regular cleaning, but because as soon as you clean, within about an hour a thin layer of dust starts settling back on everything. Been sorting through the piles of books and various magazines and papers that seem to collect next to my bed, putting things away, filing the paid bills and stuff. Need to finish underneath the bed and go through my bedroom bookshelf tomorrow and then I can start on the office.

My cats decided yesterday to give me a bonus gift - well B-cat did.... Heard him come in around 7.30pm last night, doing his yowly thing... Then suddenly stopped so I didn't think any more about it. However, this morning I discovered what the fuss was about.... In the doorway of the powder room on the middle level was an offering...in the form of a large dead (but thankfully unchewed) rodent. Thanked him, told him he was a clever boy and disposed of the corpse in the park across the road!

Here's hoping he doesn't bring me anymore gifts....

Plans are afoot for new year's eve - a group of us are heading over to the local club for dinner, a band and a few drinks...we have a group of five so far, with another three yet to confirm. Should be a fun night.

Tonight, as my reward for a productive cleaning day, I'm indulging in a Simon Pegg moviefest.... Shaun of the Dead ( halfway through) and then Hot Fuzz. World's End has been released on DVD so I want to get that...these movies are kind of fun.
