So, it's been a year since graduation.
I'm still at the Daily Press. I'm pretty much at one year. And on the anniversary of that one year, I finally got granted full-time status. That's right. Even though I've work at 40 - 48 hours a week every week for the past year, I was still considered part time. Now I suddenly find myself with a $1 raise, a 401K and paid holidays. Fun. I'm also responsible for a hell of a lot
Except, Travis may be getting a job somewhere else in the near future. He still works at the VLM, but by September he will be applying to various environmental and outdoors-based jobs. This is the reason that instead of moving with everybody in the current house to a new house, we will be splitting off and getting a one bedroom apartment on a 6-month lease. That will give us the ability to move if we need to and not screw everyone else up. Plus, nobody realizes it but there are literally only 3 available 4 bedroom houses in the area. It's completely ridiculous to stress out so much to get one of those while trying to motivate your roommates to help you look for a new place. In the space of 4 days we have decided on and looked at two places. We hoping to get this two-story, one bedroom townhome in Hampton and have already turned in that application. It's PRETTY and CHEAP and accepts DOGS up to 70 pounds!!!! And, having become even more of an insomniac in the past year, I am so ready not to be living with 3 extra people. Granted I enjoy their company, but its starting to happen that everyday I have something that tends to anger me. But I know when we move out I will miss them. So hopefully visits will still be in order.
Anyway, that's pretty much it. Not much to say for a full year, eh? Oh well, I guess you can't change too quickly.
I'm going to see Terminator tonight. I'm sad the tv show got cancelled but I hope that, like the Star Trek movie, this update will be a pleasant and action-packed surprise. If not, at least I got some reese's pieces out of the event.
