The other day when I came home from school and drank some water, I thought I loosened some food fragment from my teeth, but when I felt it with my tongue, I automatically spit it out onto the floor. It was a small cockroach. I looked at the glass of water in my hand and there was another one on the outside. I nearly dropped the glass ( Read more... )

Yeah, I've seen your black bugs. No bug inside one's house is a good thing, but those bugs don't scare me much. The fleas consuming a member of my family is another thing entirely! That warrants an all out war to the finish!

My picture is the result of your picture. Seeing you close up like that every time I open my LJ friends makes such a warm tingle in my heart. I tried to copy you but the comparison wasn't good so I had to adjust it a bit.

I looked at all your new pictures and loved them. Who is Amber, by the way? The pictures of Josh were some of the cutest ones. He looks so happy, which makes me happy! When I saw your work in the front yard I was so jealous. I wanted to get in there with you and dig. I love pulling unwanted vegetation. It's the same feeling as getting rid of too much stuff that's taking up space in my house.

I wonder how much hard work like that I could handle at my age. I'm trying to get exercise by walking up the stairs every day (since I got rid of my rolling briefcase) and parking far away from stores, etc. I know I need to make time for it. That's the hardest thing, but I love challenges!

War to the finish indeed. I have turned to apple cider vinegar in a desperate attempt to avoid chemicals. I put a little dab in her water everyday which balances her ph levels, also I use a half acv half water mix after her baths as a rinse, it works as an antiseptic for her red irritated skin, and also it is supposedly a deterent for the little buggers. I have read alot of testimonials online about these techniques but everything takes time to see any results. We continue to treat the house and yard however after we treated the yard last time we had rain and snow so it was all probably washed away. We will keep at it though.

I agree, the picture warms my heart too. Any pictures of my loved ones does.

Amber is a friend of mine, that actually was the one that kind of got Josh and I together, as she was a mutual friend. She has had some real serious problems and is really turning the corner in conquering them, I am very proud of her. She used to be Colin's roomate when Colin did not live with us.

Josh loves Nilly, it is hard to take a picture of them both were they don't look happy. My sweet family!

So in the mound in the front I have Youpan holly and Asian jasmine, I also have asian jasmine all over the front of my yard, it is horrid. I finally went to a nursery and asked someone. They said to mow it all down and then till it. It is really going to be hard work and I am going to need industrial sized equiptment. Luckily one of our neighbors has access to these kind of things so I might be able to get it done soon. We also sprung forward an hour so I may get to get that stuff finished before summer. :)
Josh has been working on the house alot too. We are very motivated to making it look good. Soon we will move our old rug into my new bar/sitting room, and we will get a new one for the main living area. SO exciting. I decided for my birthday I wanted to get stuff for the house, and I have plans on collecting soon!
Love you!
