Eating & drinking sensibly..

...is hard.

So, as I probably haven't gotten round to mentioning here, I accidentally gave up Red Bull a few days before New Years (stock control failure on my part while moving house, then the NYE venue ran out before I even got there - go sInners!). Still on the wagon on that count.

However, I've likely been drinking more diet coke to compensate; it's been difficult to measure, as my 1.25L bottles haven't been lining up with days. Got back to finishing one last night and stopping, then sticking to only one today. Oh, and a coffee. Still feeling ok, so that should be easy enough to stick to.

The other thing, though, is alcohol. Now I've never really been one for getting *really* plastered - I've done that maybe twice ever. I do, however, lapse into periods of drinking lightly from mid afternoon onwards every day; and it doesn't take that many bacardi and diet cokes to add a good 15-20% to my daily calorie intake. Between that and lack of exercise I've put on a good 4-6 inches round my waistline in the last four or five months.

So, starting on several alcohol free days a week.. or maybe just cutting down to at most a couple of shots if it's not the weekend; undecided as to the details as yet. Do need to be careful with the sugary apricot snacks I get in bulk from the supermarket too :-/

Still, started yoga again today, and I've been climbing down and up three flights of stairs at least once a day since moving into our apartment :)
