And the moonbeams extend to your forehead.
And go right into your skull..
like rays of love.
And I would suffer for you,
I would dig it up with a shovel
and leave it in the open-
undead.
And then the eyes, they blink.
As if to say yes and no, no of course I won't but yet I will.
And you talk in circles I can't keep up with..
I trip..
But I get back up,
and I swear someday I'll break the chain.
Your complex formulas will be dissolved by cotton.
You will see I am none other than who everyone claims to be when they are good.
And I will see that you are you-
the you I see you as.
Then I will cry
because that's all I've ever wanted,
and that's all I could ever in our lives ask you for.
My heart will extend its tangled boundaries
and jump into your body
and dance
and turn into glitter in your blood.
Then I will be with you forever...
in you tears...
in your spit...
in your hair..
in your toenails.
I will live double.
Then you will see I was never unreachable,
I was never too high you couldn't see me.
I was always in your bones.
Now in your blood.
But I can't gain everything,
so I will take your aches and pains-
just like a good girl.
When my freckles come back
and my cheeks get their pink
I will look healthy,
but be both sick and well.
And there will always be tomorrow- because I say so.
And I say I wanted this,
so I took it
and wrapped it up with a green bow
and shoved it under my bed.
There it is now,
with two years old paper and pens
with the dust
and the bugs that live under my bed.
And now everything is home
to everyone.
