You are so right...I am tired of those reviews, fed up to the back teeth with them. Orlando Owned Balian, as shriney said, and it would have been so wrong for him to have been stomping round, cursing God for his woes. I doubt I would have enjoyed it that way as much as I got into his introspective grief. I've seen it four times and would go again in a heartbeat. We're down to one session a day, at 1.50pm and the kids are out of school at 2.30. Hmm...maybe I'll leave Dad to keep them occupied on Saturday and treat myself to an afternoon at the movies :)

It's been about two weeks since my last viewing and little things keep coming back to me... the line "How can you be in hell, when you're in my heart?" tears my hear to pieces, as does Godfrey's repentance of his sins,.."all, but one".

On one of my forums, some dolt suggested that Ridley 'realised his mistake in putting Orlando in the lead and brought in Liam Neeson to shore up the production'...WTF???!!! I read in ...Empire? or Premiere? not sure which, that Liam was proud of Orlando for the way he handled the role, and the pressure of his first lead, and for the way he grew as a person along with growing in the character. Damn, some people are ignorant!!!

All I have left to say is...bring on the DVD!!!

I know you weren't writing this specifically to me but I'll reply anyway...lol. I'm with you totally about his introspective grief...Balian was a different sort of character and I really admired that. He wasn't all about brawn (though he had an nice bod'...*meep*)--he was about feelings and spirituality and the struggle to be a good person. I found a lot more to identify in that, and I suspect if more women went to see this film they'd feel that way, too. Although my hubby likes blood and guts as much as the next guy and he didn't find anything to criticize in Orlando's performance. Orli was stoic and manly and kicked ass and wielded a sword and sure as hell wasn't a wimp, so hubby didn't think there was anything to dislike! :P

As for the person who made that comment about Liam...*shakes fist* Prolly one of the same people that keeps saying Johnny stole the picture from Orlando in POTC. As if anyone thought Johnny Depp would be playing a secondary character. Please. Orlando took that role on purpose, because he didn't want to carry a big film until he was ready. And he was ready when he took KOH. I don't think Liam gives praise lightly...hell, he dissed George Lucas when he was supposed to be doing PR work for Star Wars...heh. Anyone who's actually *watched* Orlando's performances can see how much confidence he's gained and how this was his best work yet.

I can hardly wait for the DVD! Whoot!!
