OMG!!! And I was honestly thinking of not bothering to watch the SAG awards! I tuned in late, on the repeat showing, and started watching. Seemed everyone was kind of schmoopy and feeling the solidarity love, so I kept on watching. And then I saw lovely Viggo, looking all bright-eyed and dapper and roowrrrrrrrrrr! *squee!*
I'd had no idea he was going to present, either! It's so un-Viggo-like, and my goodness, he almost seemed comfortable with the whole thing. I'm so pleased...it's so nice to see him getting recognition for his fine work and even though he didn't win (grr), I think he was just pleased to be there and be part of the whole thing.
Thanks to
azewewish who had the perfect pic from the awards...Viggo and Javier...g-guh! I was so happy I watched the awards, as I am all a-buzz with Viggo luff again bigtime...*swoons*
And I've been sooooo annoyed at DDL swooping in out of nowhere after a million years of being retired and stealing Viggo's chance at the limelight (*rage*), but then tonight, Daniel has to go and give a very loving speech about Heath and his work and it was so classy and kind--well, I couldn't really be mad anymore. And it made up for that sort of hackjob they did on the InMemorium segment adding Heath in at the last minute--did they not have an editor who could have spent five minutes putting something together? Gah.
In any case, much joy from the SAG awards. Was stunned over Charles Durning's amazing and challenging life, that's for sure, and he gave a lovely speech. I've adored him in so many roles, he's a great actor. I loved Tina Fey's speech about Alec Baldwin and her in a scene together was like Fred Astaire dancing with a hat rack...heh. And I am so stunned that Queen Latifah won, but thrilled, and then sorry that she wasn't there!
Did I mention Viggo looked lovely? Not crazy about the beard, of course, but he was still sexy and sweet and sensitive Viggo that we love so much. *squees again*
