Well, I was told by thalassatx that the part about the curse being lifted after ten years was cut from the film. I'm not sure why they would cut it unless they *wanted* us to think it was this dismal end. You're right, the betrayal would've seen even worse if the ten year rule were in effect, so again, not sure why they cut it.

Even so, it still leaves you with the same impression that she had to wait around for ten years and raise the child herself. Hubby said "Hey that's one way to get out of mowing the lawn..." LOL! Now that I read that it sounds like some kind of sexual metaphor...*snerk* But anyway, just annoying.

The thing of it with Jack was that he *wanted* to do it, because he wanted to be immortal. I guess they set this all up just so Jack could do something selfless after all of this--he gave it up so that Will wouldn't die. But I mean, did it really do him any favors? (If you don't take into account the ten year rule). I dunno, It just seems a crappy way to end the trilogy but I guess they're banking on people caring more about Captain Jack than Will & Lizzie.

The maelstrom scene is enough to get anyone excited...hee. She acted up during the Sharpe battle scene, too, didn't she? :P

Yeah, as Shane put it, she was probably in there trying to bust out of her amniotic sack yelling, "I'm part of the sea! I wanna be a pirate!"

And yeah, I think it's stupid that they chopped the 10-year clause part.

And yeah, I have to agree, I've never cared all that much for Will and Lizzie. Well, more for Will, less for Lizzie. Something about Keira Knightley in all the PotC movies just left me cold. It's not that she's a bad actress exactly...I dunno...maybe it's the way she's always trying to do that Zoolander Magnum pout in every goddamn picture or moment on the screen that I see her that irritates me. She's like...I dunno...the coldest feisty person I've ever seen. Maybe, too, it's because Johnny Depp really put his own spin on his character and even poor Orly can't compete with that. Though I have to say that his acting is maturing and he was much more believable. I didn't like all the double-crossing he was doing...and I have to admit that there were points that I actually hoped Lizzie would go with Jack, that that somehow would have redeemed her. I dunno...I have a lot of mixed feelings. It may just be bias because the character of Jack, and even Barbossa, just totally steal the show.
