Whew...we feed our cats Hill's Science Diet, dry food only, and I am very relieved to see it's not on the list of products affected by the recall.

That's good! I was shocked at the extent of brands covered. We generally only give Gina the dry stuff too, but my grandmother actually had a couple packages of the Wal-mart stuff. The first thing she asked, of course, was whether she could get her money back. *argh*

My doggies brand isn't on the list. *relieved sigh*

Glad I could help! I saw the article yesterday but they said the list of brands wouldn't be up until this morning. I know I've got a lot of petlovers on my flist so I thought I'd help spread the word. I'm glad yours isn't on there!

You're welcome! Glad your kitties' food isn't on there. I was surprised how many brands were affected.

Thanks for the link! I feed one of my cats Iams canned food. One of the cans was from the affected plant (not the affected batch) but I threw it out anyway. For sixty-nine cents, I'd rather not worry about it.

You're welcome! Our dog is allergic to everything so she only eats specialized food, but my grandmother actually had two packages of the stuff from Wal-mart. I didn't even bother reading her the serial numbers of which exact ones were affected, 'cause I agree with you--better to be safe and just get rid of it.

I had heard about the store brands recall, but not all the name brands as well!

I don't think my mom feeds her cats wet Iams, but I'm going to call her to make sure!

Thanks for the info.

You're welcome! I know recall info doesn't always get out there enough so I figured I'd post it here as well. Gotta look out for our pet friends too!
