Hello!!

Well,

I guess I could post something here since I haven’t in quite some time and I'm procrastinating like all hell. (‘Tis the season to be procrastinating... or posting... or... )

I'm procrastinating because I probably should have just taken the day off today. I last minute took off tomorrow because Sophia (our friend from Richmond who is teaching in Bolivia) is back in town and will be up visiting Elly (our friend from Russia who is living in Bethesda) tonight through tomorrow. A whole bunch of us are getting together for dinner tonight at Rira, which is supposed to be a nice Irish pub place. I'm excited. And then everybody else is headed home since they all have to work in the AM and Sophia, Elly, Chaz and I are going to hang out. Might see a movie or just chill. But I'm definitely excited about the food. :) http://www.rira.com/locations/bethesda/menu.php If you are interested and/or are ever in the Bethesda area. :)

But anyway, I should have taken today off too, cause really what is going to work one day... although I've gotten some good stuff taken care of, so thats good...

Hmm- Christmas was good. Made Indian food for Me, B, and our friend Sam Friday night. Then we went and saw Munich. It was actually pretty good, although very intense. I didn’t have any expectations going in, so it was really neat. Saturday I hung around the house for a long time. (I didn’t go to bed til late the night before so I already hadn’t woken up til like 130. :) ) I watched Lisa wrap some presents and we puttered about for a while. We had wine -with a bottle that I had issues with opening. We only had one of those funny openers that her Dad has with the two prongs you stick down the sides of the cork, and somehow I managed to chip off TWO pieces of glass from the bottle neck. Oops. Luckily we found them both- they had projectiled off pretty badly- it was crazy. Lisa went out and got a cake for Hex's family December B-day gathering later that night and also cookie dough. Hex and Brian eventually showed up and there were cookies made and presents opened. Good times. Then Brian and I went for Chinese- it was close by and we figured it wouldn’t be closed on Christmas Eve. It’s actually a really good place with Mongolian BBQ and California rolls and we eat there pretty frequently so they know us well and the guy behind the Mongolian BBQ knows exactly how we like our food and makes us extra sushi. We rule. Then we went to my Parents house for a little while to exchange some gifts and putter a bit.

Christmas morning Brian and I got up and started heading towards PA for my main family gathering with everybody. Brian dozed for a while on the way up which was nice cause he’s super cute when he’s passed out. We got there and had a good time. Brian met the last two cousins he hadn’t before and did quite well at surviving the rest of them. :) My family is a crazy bunch. We had lots of food, several presents and the occasional feline. My aunt (who's house we were at) has two cats. One of them was really sick recently so she was recuperating in the bedroom- but was friendly enough to be petted. :) I remember her since she was a kitten (only a few years ago) at one Xmas when we were there I went back into the bedroom (because she was kept away for her sanity that year I think) and I'd pet her and she'd crawl up on my lap and be super cute. Also they have a new kitten about 4 months old name Simon. He was cute too- although a little skittish- of course if it was me, I'd be skittish from all the chaos too. I'm just glad that Brian wasn’t. HA. So anyway, we ate, played some games and generally had a good time. I drove home too (Go go driver Cheryl) and then we passed out.

Monday Brian and I lounged around the house and I gave him one of his last Xmas gifts. Then we showered and went to try a new Thai place we hadn’t been to, but have been meaning to for a while- Tup Tim Thai over behind IHOP- it was pretty decent. Then we trolled about a bit, went to Costco and Sam’s and headed back to my house. We lounged for a good long while and enjoyed each others company. About 9ish we headed over to his place to meet up with some other friends (Josh and Chris). We hung out and played some cards and ate a whole heck of a lot of Pistachios. Mmm.

Next weekend is New Years. We have some people coming over- some friends of Brian’s, some of our friends from College, maybe Ray and that crowd if I ever hear back from him! It should be fun- I got a BIG ASS martini glass from Brian for Xmas, so I shall be partaking, Brian and I also talked about making Jello shots- who doesn’t love Jello shots? :) So that should be fun.

Otherwise, life is continuing on. Work is work (and I love it because I absolutely love the people I work for/with). Boy is fantastic- although he drives me nuts sometimes (both good and crazy ways)- but I suppose that is their job in life- HA! My house is a bit of mess right now because we all have presents sporadically dispersed around the apartment, but its fun. (Oh- I got a Christmas tree. It’s pretty. :) I'll have to take a picture at some point.) And life is just generally lifey. I hope everyone is doing well and I can’t wait to see those of you up in PA in January or whenever it is we are doing our shindig.
