Bringing sexy back, taking longer than planned...
I'm still alive...just busy as all heck.
On the job front, for the past 6 months or so our entire group (~200 people) is being evaulated for outsourcing. So there's been lots of churn and turnover and turmoil. We're supposed to get The Word in early May, so it's almost over. Currently I'm sticking it out to see what happens, but it's a rough ride. My group consisted of four people. The other three, including the tech lead, have all taken other positions. So I'm the only one left. Oh, and we're at the tail end of a multi-year ginornous project. All three of them left with unfinished or finished-but-untested-and-very-buggy work, which I've been single-handedly completing since then. It's stressful to say the least.
Fans of Nicki and the Jake-blog are probably wondering where she's disappeared. She's still going to school pretty much full-time, but leaning away from straight nursing and more towards being an EMT/fireman (for reals!). She's left her IT job and is now working at Bethany Village, the swankiest old-people home in the area (on 48 near Elsa's for you locals). She's enjoying the heck out of it, but is crazy-busy. She also has no access to a computer. As for Jake, he's near-failing his way through his freshman year. Most of the stories are just annoying or frustrating. There are occasional funny ones, and she's keeping notes that I'm supposed to post...eventually...
