I'm going to London on Thursday. Because of this, I've been running around doing prep work. My suitcase got mangled on the way back from San Francisco (where I got to hang out with the lovely laurashapiro, cofax7, and la_perkins) so I had to buy a new one. It's aggressively purple. I got new glasses. They are angular and red. Shoes. Clothes. Adapter/converter. We'll see if the digital camera arrives before I leave.
Conspicuous consumption: it's what happens when you watch What Not to Wear and then look at your life, and realize your underwear is in a terrible state and some of your shirts need to be thrown in the garbage and you haven't ordered new eyeglasses since 2007. London is just an excuse to get my life in better order.
athena4lynn and I are going to see Much Ado About Nothing at Wyndham's Theatre, and then do touristy things. St. Paul's Cathedral. Westminster Abbey. National Gallery. The Doctor Who Experience.
LivingSocial's London deal today is a ticket to see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, so I bought it. I'm also considering Pygmalion at the Garrick Theatre with Rupert Everett (?!) and Diana Rigg.
If anyone has suggestions for fun things while I'm in London, I'm greatly appreciate them!
Now I need to clean the bathroom. And do more laundry. And at some point I will collapse in front of the television to watch AbFab and paint my nails while drinking pear sake.
