Wait wait wait, seriously? Creepy abusive-boyfriend evangelist St. John Rivers? How could Jane Eyre not squash him like a bug! He's supposed to be overwhelming and shit! Unless he dances her into a state of confusion, I am not seeing it.

I am tongue in cheek. Jamie Bell is young and too wee (although quite fit), and when I looked up the 2011 Jane Eyre cast in IMDb, I said to myself, "Of course he's playing a character I'd punch in the crotch, but won't because the character might enjoy it as mortification of the flesh."

I question why we are making another Jane Eyre, since I swear I've seen two new ones within the past 10 years. (Right? Right? One with Charlotte Gainsbourg of the ridiculously long neck, and the other one with Toby Stephens with his hair inexplicably dyed dark brown.)
