Yuletide reveal

Jan 01, 2011 01:32

For my main assignment, I started reviewing all four fandoms that my recipient requested regardless of whether I knew them while trying to remember how to write again. I almost wrote Gakuen Heaven fic before I came up with the idea I eventually ran with, so if there's anyone out there who would read Nakajima Hideaki/Shichijo Omi porn, you should speak now while the canon is still fresh in my mind. ;)

Rumors on the Wind (2047 words) by
shrift
Fandom: Samurai Champloo
Rating: General Audiences
Characters: Kasumi Fuu, Mugen, Jin
Summary: The crossroads and her first journey behind her, Fuu walked away from Ikitsuki Island until her feet blistered and her stomach's growl was a constant companion.

For my second assignment, I was pressed for time and writing with a clammy determination, pausing every once in a while, wild-eyed, to flail at
nestra in a blind panic. She was a trooper, giving me feedback on the fly as I desperately wrote more scenes and tried to come up with a title and summary in the eleventh hour.

Observe and Detect (3178 words) by

Fandom: Castle
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Relationships: Javier Esposito/Kevin Ryan
Characters: Javier Esposito, Kevin Ryan, Richard Castle, Kate Beckett
Summary: In which there is an early morning call-out, breakfast food betrayals, the pulling of pigtails, and a groove that gets lost and found.

I ended up writing in two fandoms I'd written in before, and the fact that I'd already done plenty of research in the past helped, but after not writing for six months it was plenty challenging.

I always think it's obvious when I've written a story, and that's especially true with these two, but I liked them and I'm glad people seemed to like them, too.
