I hate you, and I hate that I hate you, because once upon a time, before loved turned to hate… we completed each other. Two halves of a whole, and the missing pieces to the puzzle. Before I knew your name, and before I felt your lies underneath my fingertips. I’m sure you felt the same. But the pieces are still the same. We still fit in (im)perfect harmony, like a stained glass masterpiece depicting the breaking of a blood-red heart. Like blood to blood and heart to heart, we can’t tear ourselves apart, not without serious harm. Not without losing ourselves. So we walk together, slightly out of sync, but our hearts still playing that perfect beat. The one that sings of our rise and fall and the seed of love still buried beneath the ashes of who we used to be. (and when I say “I hate you”, of course you know what I really mean. I feel the same.)
A/n: this is actually a "prose" piece that I wrote awhile ago, before season four and not even for SPN. But as I was reading over it, I realized... it kind of fit. And my Beta told me I had to post it. So... yeah.
