Of penpals, letters and the Internet...

When I was a child and learned about the way the sun illuminated one half of this world while the moon put to sleep the other half, the idea fascinated me endlessly. Hey Shri, I had read Misha as a child too. And I had written to a girl called Tzina Karantza (yes, i still remember her name!!)She never replied. Reading your post reminded me of the excitement (and disappointment) of wishing for a penfriend.

And I also know the Dennis you referred to...I had read those stories in Marathi (Dennischya Goshti). :)

I enjoyed reading it then, and I would love to read it even today.
I like the fact that Dennis is a normal boy; neither a goody-two shoes nor a brat.

Some of my favourite Dennis stories - The Red Riding Hood one,
the one where he and his friends play around with paint and the one where his father tells him a story to make him eat his porridge.

I agree.

The paint one is my fav. too, also a story called 'Lattha thapadi' which is I think about one of his neighbours or one of his Mom's friends.

I am so enjoying reminiscing about the good times I had, while reading this book. :D
