I have tried to find this out by googling it but I can't seem to find the answer to this exact question..

NHS drop-in centres, will they give you prescriptions?

I've had a cough (nasty with wheezing) for about the last five weeks and, since I'm asthmatic, I should probably get it checked out in case it turns out to be bronchitis or something.  However, registering with a doctor in Slough is incredibly annoying and difficult.  I do, however, note that there's a drop-in centre quite near to me.  So, that seems to be the most sensible option.  But, obviously not very worthwhile if they won't do prescriptions.

I'm wondering about this because, surely, if they can't look at your medical records, it's a bit weird for them to write you prescriptions because they might prescribe you something that they shouldn't.
