first gaze
i remember this girl i use to play with when we were kids. we use to lay in the grass at night and stare at the stars. oh how magical they were. i remember the first time i ever saw stars. it was the most beautiful thing i ever seen. and i remember that if i were ever feeling scared, or sad, or even just the need to be free. i would get up in the middle of night and i would walk into my backyard and i'd lay in the grass and stare at the stars for hours until i fell asleep. there are no words in how the stars made me feel but i knew if i saw them it would make me happy inside. just knowing that anytime i wanted i could always come to them.
