The bus ride

The bus ride...

Sounds more like the title of a chapter in a child's book, doesn't it? Well, today I took a bus ride and people who know me well would agree this is something I don't do very often.

It happened because Kanchan insisted and I went along with it. Now why would I post about a bus ride, you might wonder.

Well, for one, it's been ages since I last boarded a bus. Waiting at the bus-stop, guessing the bus number from a distance, reminded me of my college days. Those days were so unhurried I almost feel a pang realizing I'm becoming one of those haughty grown-ups who don't stop on their way to work to smile at a child or take a moment to notice the beautiful morning!

On a second thought, I know very well I'm not one of those haughty grown-ups because if that were true, this journal would not exist as most of my posts are about observing things and people around me. :-)

Anyway, today's bus ride was fun because I saw some pretty houses on the way, a cute, young girl standing on a porch dancing to her own tune, and a very old, neglected but beautiful bungalow.

Hmmm...I should remind myself to not hurry all the time lest I miss out on such neglected beauty. And if nothing else, I at least save on some money by taking a bus. :P
