i LOVE the vegas. end of story.
actually, not really, my love of vegas is actually kind of longer.
we got their early friday afternoon and took a limo down the strip. our driver like pulled over onto like, the big median thing that has the big "welcome to las vegas" sign and we took a fam picture adn thus the crazy adventures began!
we walked around for a lot of the afternoon and then went to our fantastic room and took a rest (oooh...me and my dad gambled in the slot machines...major illegal for me!). then we got all dressed up and went to this restaurant for dinner called "chinois" (shin-wa). wow. like, p.f. changs x 7 delicious. mmmm. we had delicous tofu lettuce wraps and green beans and chicken and my dad got this amazing fish that was like cooked a little crunchy on the outside, but the inside (without soundging gross) just melted in your mouth...it was so delicious and buttery. mmmm.
after dinner we went to the ray romano comedy stand-up thing. it was AWESOME. it was so funny with so many great jokes. one of my favorite parts was in questions from the audience when someone asked "whats next for you" and he was like "well...ice age 2!" and then he was like, well, none of you are asking about my most recent movie "welcome to mooseport...did anyone see it?" a bunch of people cheered and he was like "it sucks, i owe you all 8 bucks." okay, that doesnt sound so funny, but it was just an awesome fantastic show!
saturday we woke up and took a cab down the strip to the m&m store. 4 stories, with one floor filled with every possible different colored m&m. lime green, turquoise, hot pink, pastels...mmmm...it was way fun! also super funny pic of kaitlin being a reject.....
afterwards we walked around and ended up at the bellagio where they have the huge dancing fountains (ya know, in oceans 11 at the end when they watch the big fountain?!?) it was honestly one of my favorite parts of the trip...it was just absolutely astounding. we went back to chinois for lunch because we all had loved it soooo much for dinner!
the rest of the afternoon had a bit of a damper on it cause at somepoint i think i pulled a muscle like on the underside of my knee, and my leg just freaking hurt, like, walking was sooo painful. and walking is what you do in vegas, so i wasn't the happiest of campers for our afternoon of shopping. i did end up getting some super cute light reddy colored shoes and a new make-up brush, so that was good!
we came back and rested for a little bit before we went out for dinner.
we went to probably one of the best most amazing restaurants ever called "il milino." like. i can't even begin to say how much i loved it. we got to the table and there was already a plate with thin sliced salami nad these absolutely incredible zuccini's. like, zuccini is my fave vegetable and i've had it cooked many ways, but nothing as good as this. like, paper thin zucchini slices just soaked in this oil spicy stuff. just plain indescribably amazing. then they brought each of us a piece of bruschetta (one of my favortist foods) on a toasty warm garlic bread. then they brought out two baskets of bread. there was regular bread and then this bread that was like a long crouton with garlic infused olive oil like filling it up, like, it wasn't soggy it was crispy. and then there was this warm cheese bread. OMG i forgot the best part. this guy just comes by with this HUGE piece of parmesean cheese and just cuts off a wedge for you. so after eating all of this i was already full and we hadn't even seen a menu yet!! then was salad and kaito and i sahred this big caesar salad that was amazing. i usually don't like really light dressing, but this was perfect with just the right amount of flavor coating every single piece of lettuce and crouton. i could barely eat any of it but it was just so delicious. then was the main course and we all split pesto gnocchi and angel hair pasta with tomato sauce. neither fo those two things are ever my favorite, but they were just divine. i was so full i could barely eat them but each but was just mmmmmmmmmmm....so delicious. throughout the meal we all kept sneaking into the bathroom cause they had these amazing mints - those after dinner mints (that melt in your mouth) coated in a thick chocolate layer. AMAZING. like. wow, best food of my life
(sorry for the lengthy food descriptions. sometimes i wonder if food critic is more my calling than college student. i just enjoy the tastes and flavors of it so much).
afterwards was blue man group! another AMAZING part of the evening. like, it was beyond entertaining and there were so many weird quirks and fantastically awesome little skits. like one of the guys kept throwing marshmellows into the other blue guys mouth and he didn't miss catching any. but by the end he had at least 25 big marshmallows in his mouth yet he could still catch more! like, wow. CRAZY. and there was so much toilet paper everywhere (like actually. you woldn't believe how much toilet paper they sent over the audience like, more than a lifetime supply). it was just so so so soososososo famazing.
and today we woke up and ate at this bakery in the grand canal shops. afterwards i got a facial at the spa whihc was INCREDIBLE. like, facials don't sound that great, but they are just actually amazing. it felt so wonderful.
and then it was time to go home. its weird. vegas is such a city of excess. everything is huger than the next thing and it is all so enormously impressive. its a disneyland for adults. but for some reason, it didn't bug me like "american materialism" sorts of things sometimes do. it was all so new and outstanding to me that all i could do was soak it all in. the fashion mall and the grand canal stores and the forum shops ahd so many cool features like the curved escalators and the moving statues and the ceiling that looked like the sky.
WOW. I LOVE VEGAS.
and now i'm back in seattle. it was weird coming back to my room ,but it felt good to unpack everything and stop living out of a suitcase. i spent most of the evening with rach and leah nad it was so much fun to catch up on everybodies breaks! its seems like we all had such a good time! plus us girls always just have so much fun together and get so excited about little things. i'm realllly excited for our class together tomorrow!
okay. i seriously need to sleep, because tomorrow is going to be a freaking fantastic day!
