Pengubat rindu
Hello. This is a glimpse of everyday life of our small and beautiful family after their marriage. I know it has been ages since my last update of this story, please know that I have no intention to dump this story but I’m just taking my pleasurable time to pick up this story again. There has been very little progress because I just cannot pour out those words in my mind into writing and yes, I got frustrated every time I tried to write it down. [sound so much like an awful excuse but I’m having it. =)]

Jun watched Ken cuddling at Sho’s side while Sho reads to Ken the storybook. Bedtime stories is not the thing that Ken often asked for anymore, but tonight it was Sho’s treat. He offered it to Ken earlier. Of course his son would never refuse such golden opportunity. It was Sho who noticed Jun’s presence at the door.
“Come to join the party?”
“Daddy!” Ken waves cheerfully from the bed, gesturing to Jun to join them on the bed.
“No, just checking. I thought you took your time.” Jun said to Sho while walking towards the bed. And to Ken, “why are you trying to steal your father away from me? You should have been sleeping by now.” he sits beside Ken on the bed.
“I am not stealing papa.” Ken states.
“Why are you jealous of your son?” Sho teases, grinning at his husband.
“I am not.” Jun climbs on and joins Ken on the bed. “Read to us.”
“Tease.”
“You were.”
“Papa, continue.”
“Okay.”
Sho continues until Ken finally surrendered to the dreamland. He admires the scene before him before carefully extracting himself from Ken.
“He really needs us to tuck him together to bed every night.” Sho said before leaning down to kiss Ken.
“He loves you. And he misses you all time.”
“I love him too.”
“Of course. I would be angry if you don’t love him.” Jun smiles. “Let’s go.”
“Un.”
They walk silently out of the room, closing the door carefully.
“Bedtime for you too?” Sho asked.
“You wished?”
Instead of replying, Sho takes Jun’s hand and walk towards their bedroom. “Cuddles time?”
“Spoiled.”
“That I am.” Sho walks towards their bed and drop down on it, pulling Jun along with him.
“I’m tired.” Sho whispered in the small space between them.
“I know. I am too. Lie down properly.” Jun instructs.
Sho obeys, and they fall down into their favorite sleeping position where Jun safely tucked beside Sho, head resting on Sho’s shoulder.
“Cuddle time.” Jun mumbles. He is getting sleepy.
“Un. Sleep.”
Sho runs his palm soothingly on Jun’s head and back, slowly lulling Jun to sleep. He lies on his side so he can hug Jun more properly.
In the room’s quietness and darkness, added to Sho’s soft breathing and steady heartbeats beating against his ears is the condition Jun falls into slumber. Sho follows him not long after.
