I guess it's been a while since I last bothered to post anything. This is partly due to the fact that I have been away from home since early May, doing 2010's version of last year's epic roadtrip. I'm in AZ at the moment and will be for at least a couple more days before heading north. This year, I hope to get as far as South Dakota before needing to turn towards home.
In other news, I recently discovered the group The National when I picked up their latest CD, High Violet on a boredom induced impulse buy, and I ended up liking them a lot. It turns out that they're going to be playing a couple of concerts in Philadelphia in just a few days. Too bad I'm on the wrong side of the country for that fact to do me any good. First I missed Mumford & Sons going through town in mid-May, and now this. Grrr....
And in random fandom land, I saw How To Train Your Dragon a week or so ago, and now I really want to see someone do a crossover between that and Beowulf, just because it would be fun to see the clashing of such different "viking-ish people vs. dragon(s)" stories. Of course, I'm also the person who desperately wishes that someone would write a Jekyll/Narnia crossover just so that I can see what might happen if Hyde met Aslan, so it's not like this particular pattern of thinking is particularly new.
I've been doing/seeing all sorts of things in the past few weeks, and yet I can't think of much else to say right now, so I guess it's time to wrap things up here and go to bed so that I'm not still asleep when my cousin gets home tomorrow afternoon. Bye for now.
