Judy promised she would add, so I'm re-posting the story in it's entirety so that she can do so. Also, I don't believe Nicole ever added, so in case she wishes to do so . . .
You know the drill: post a comment in reply containing up to but no more than the next 3 lines of the story as you see fit.

The man in black looked out over the sea. He sighed and mounted his horse, preparing to descend the hill towards the bay where his ship waited in the harbor. As the man lifted the reins to urge the horse onward, a great explosion came from below where his ship once was, sending charred splinters everywhere.
"Ahh, damn it!" he exclaimed, "That's the third ship this week." The man in black gritted his teeth, kicked his spurs into his horse's side and was thrown off his horse when it reared.
The horse, named Garidain by one of its old owners (an owner who'd paid little heed to the Hag of Westreach's warning), kicked the man in black in the head, splitting his skull open and breaking his neck, thereby slaying the last of the Dunwoody Pirate gang and sealing the fate of the Lirall Island refugees forever. Garidain snorted and pawed the ground beneath her hooves. She bowed her head, and every muscle in her sleek white body sweated and strained as her feathers and joists slowly emerged from along her sides, and she whinnied a high, clear pitch as she leapt from the hilltop into the sky and raced through the clouds towards Lirall Island.
