The Causeway, Friday
Scully had spent Thanksgiving dinner with her mom, called her brothers, and taken the rest of the day working with Mulder, trying to get back across the Causeway. There had been dirt-bikes, cabs, and boats involved.
In the end, though, she had simply walked across, hand-in-hand with Mulder. Halfway there, she'd stopped to look back, like Lot's wife.
And in that moment, Mulder vanished.
Scully was frozen on the Causeway, unmoving for several minutes. She wanted to call for Mulder. She wanted to cry. She could still feel the warmth of his fingers in hers.
In the end, she kept walking, face a mask, heading through town back to the dorms.
