I've been attempting a low-electron diet over the past couple of weeks with intermittent success. I'm breaking it deliberately now because this 84-year old survivor of the Nazi regime, who emigrated to the US and became a teacher and all-round activist for social good, was pepper-sprayed by Seattle police when she went to support #Occupy, and her good sense and humour and passion for creating a just and decent world have made her my new hero. I want to be her when I grow up. Dorli Rainey, my friends:

"Once little old ladies get involved victory is assured. They're uber-tough as they've lasted this long. You pretty much can't intimidate them. They've been staring down Death up close and personal for years as all of their friend die off and various parts of their body start to malfunction and shut down. What'd you got that they'll find scary?"
I aspire to being one of those wise, tough old birds one day. I need to accumulate years and wisdom.
