Autumnal Equinox, 2011

Sep 23, 2011 15:54

It's a gorgeous day. Blue sky, white fluffy clouds, butterflies proliferating, sun shining, zephyrs breezing.

It's a bumper year for apples and pears, sweeter, juicier, larger and more abundant than usual, due to the weird Summer In April and Autumn From May To September phenomena.

I got a box full of fruit and veg delivered this morning and cooked up a storm. A healthy storm, packed with anti-oxidants and general gorgeousness. Mmmmm, cinnamon applesauce! (top tip: add a heaped tablespoon of malt extract for extra oomph.)

Sat down with a family member and discussed an issue around boundaries, which went really well. I'd worried that it had the potential to go boom, and nothing could have been further from the truth.

Spent time goofing off with a fellow volunteer - yes, we did input all the data we were supposed to, it's just that talking about sci-fi and geeky humour took approximately 3 times longer than the task at hand, and we had a blast.

Today feels like a day flowing as it should.

It's a good day for an equinox.
