This perfectly captures why I love Agent Coulson (and Captain America) best of all the Avengers in the latest films.

Decency, kindness, modesty, intelligence, the confidence to act in the best and least violent way (he knocks them out but doesn't kill them), calm courtesy, and a wicked sense of humour.

The moment in Avengers where he plucks up the courage to say that he collects Captain America trading cards cemented Agent Coulson's place in my heart. I'm so, so pleased that character gets to head the new Agents Of SHIELD series.

In this, I love how gentle he is with the woman at the counter. "I couldn't decide. Keep the change."
