Sometimes I wish I kept up with my poor livejournal. It gets so neglected. For my own memory, this was my past week or so:
Monday (Post entry). Saw Garden State with Jessica. SUCH a good movie, holy wow. We saw it by accident, really. Since we're cheap bastards, we were going to see Troy at the dollar theater. So we get there, thinking it's going to be a nice night to see Orlando Bloom and Brad Pitt for a dollar. Not so much. Troy is rated R, and Jessica forgot her ID. The bitches at the ticket booth would not let her have a ticket. When we went to see Lost In Translation, also rated R, they didn't ask for ID we were muy sad. But at the dollar theater, the ghetto, fake theater, they would not let us in. Then we tried to buy tickets for Garfield, but I think they were on to us.
So we sat in my car for ten minutes pondering what to do, since there is nothing to do ever in my town. I then recalled that on Moviefone, I saw Garden State was playing at a nearby theater later, so we drove over there. Now, Garden State is also rated R, so we decided that I'd buy both tickets so they wouldn't need Jessica's ID. So I asked for the ticket, and the guy just gave them to me. I didn't have to show ANY ID. To which I say, "What the hell?" I mean, at the dollar theater, they're insane ID nazis, but at the real theater, they couldn't care less. Color me confused.
Tuesday. Sat around all day, then got off my ass and went to dance from 4-6. After that, I went to my uncle's birthday bash and hung out with the family. When I came home, I bought Hanson tickets. woo!
Wednesday. HANSON DAY. I have a lesbian crush on Taylor. I met that Michael Tolcher guy who opened for them, and he signed his CD with a little heart. I haven't actually listened to that cd yet, but whatever.
Thursday. Woke up at the ass crack of dawn to go to Kansas City with my dad. ... woo? You know how you reach a point when you're so tired, you're not tired, you're instead INSANE? That's where I was Thursday morning. I went to sleep at about 1:30 AM after Hanson, and then woke up at 5:00. That is just wrong. So we landed in KC, MO and then drove to KC, K..S(?) and checked into the hotel. Then Dad got sick, so we sat around all day. boo.
Friday. Wandered around Kansas City for hours and hours and hours, then ended up at the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library, where I bought a pencil with "Deomcrat" stamped all over it for thirty cents. Woo! Then we went to this museum featuring a steamboat that had sank in 1850something and they brought it up in the 80s and salvaged all the neat stuff, like the plates, clothes, etc. that they were shipping. It was actually really impressive and neat, despite the over-excited tour guide.
Saturday. Drove around Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa. .. wow. While in Iowa, we stopped at a drug store called "Stoner Drug". Since I'm super cool, I bought a shirt. My maturity knows no bounds. When we got back to the hotel, I watched the Olympics and got excited during the obligitory Michael Phelps clips sprinkled throughout.
Sunday. Came home and watched the VMAs. THE lamest experience of my life. Boo. However, when I got home, I went to my room, and it was redone! My mom painted it when we were gone, because she's the coolest mom ever.
Monday. I had to go to a funeral for my sister's friend's mom. Cried the entire time, but the service was actually one of the most spiritual experiences of my life. It was amazing, and the reverend made me feel better and at peace. It was a beautiful service.
Tuesday. I went to band night. Yeah, I don't really know why, either. It brought back horrible horrible memories of middle school band where I got two detentions for forgetting my music book. Yeah, I'm still bitter about that. I actually got to see a lot of my friends in another band's dance line who go to my studio, so that was fun.
Today. Cleaned my room, hung up paintings that were taken down during the painting extravaganza, and greeted the grandparents who will be staying at my house for a few days. Boring day.
Tomorrow I'm probably going to the fair, because it's free Thursday! I really am a cheap bastard.
