Adstringendum!

[Guess who is in her own body and guess who is busy opening up a worn crate clearly labeled Holiday in her theatre? This girl! And she's tugging a long well-loved coil of tinsel out of the box with a flourish and a smile, draping it across the piano almost lovingly as she smiles brightly toward the camera.]I know the event is ( Read more... )

[Cue one delighted Juliet.]

A concert, Rachel? I am very much looking forward to it! To hear songs honoring the birth of Christ, and songs from your faith, it shall be most joyous. And I am curious as to how such things are celebrated in times beyond my own. I shall most certainly be in attendance.

It's going to be a wonderful event!

I am going to try and incorporate as many religious elements as possible in order to educate people, but there will also be a Christmas tree. Do you have those, in your time?

I look forward to learning what you will teach.

[She blinks.]

Christmas tree? No, we have not any trees that are special for Christmas. How does a Christmas tree differ from a normal tree?

I've never had one -- but you decorate it with lights and ornaments around Christmas. And you put presents underneath the tree for your loved ones.

How interesting. It seems a lovely tradition. To give presents to those you love is always a kind gesture. And to arrange them under a tree.... It makes for a pretty picture in my mind. Perhaps I shall see about creating one of these trees here. Can any tree be decorated such?

What is it you do for your holiday, Rachel?

They usually use an evergreen -- a pine tree, or a fir. They're the only trees that are green in the winter.

[Knowledgably.]

And for Hanukkah, we light candles for eight nights, on a candelabra known as a menorah.

[She nods. That makes sense.]

Perhaps I shall take some of Bubbles' crayons and draw a tree, then. We have not trees in the yard.

[Another culture where candles are lit for significance. It reminds her of Hawke, lighting candles to honor people. That makes her smile.]

That sounds lovely. What do the candles mean?
