[The sound shouldn't make him hit the ceiling, but it does-- He takes a deep breath to calm down then answers the door.]

Merlin. To what do I owe the pleasure?

He accepted me! He actually accepted me!

[Without thinking, he darts forward, hugging him tightly.]

[Kurt is surprised enough to actually squeak, and he wobbles a bit as Merlin gloms him. Then he remembers to smile, and flicks it on like a lamp.]

Oh! Oh, Merlin, that's wonderful!

I mean, he hasn't fully grasped it, he doesn't want to talk-- but oh, we're friends again!

That--that's good. That's so good. [He slowly wraps his arms around Merlin, hugging him back.] I'm so happy for you...

[alwaysforhim]

Yes, isn't it?

[He pulls away, moving to grin down at him-- and then pauses.]

Are you all right?

[showbizpanache]

Me? Of course I am. I'm perfectly all right. Would you like something to drink?

[Without waiting for an answer he immediately moves away, humming a bit as he scours the fridge.]

I have iced tea, orange juice, Diet Coke... Some of Roxie's horrible alcohol, the stuff that tastes like how motor oil smells... And water, I suppose...

[He tilts his head, follows Kurt.]

Water will be fine. Are you sure?

[showbizpanache]

[He pours some water and determinedly hands it over, ignoring the question.] There. It's filtered. [He smiles.] I had to explain to Roxie what a filtering system is. I suppose you don't know either, but--try it. It's so much better than tap water, I'm serious.

I will, if only for Arthur's sake-- Kurt. You didn't answer me.

[showbizpanache]

[Nonchalant, pouring himself a glass.] Didn't answer what?

[alwaysforhim]

Whether you were all right or not.

Actually, yes I did. I fail to see why I need to confirm something twice, unless I'm speaking to a customer service representative.

[He smiles again, as if he just remembered to, and he sips his water.] So, tell me more about Arthur. I'd love to meet him sometime.

[alwaysforhim]

[He nods once, still looking a bit concerned.]

He's . . . arrogant. Very proud. But a good man. A great man, really. And he . . . he loves Camelot more than anything, I think.

[He watches Kurt carefully as he talks.]

[Kurt listens intently, gripping his glass a little too tightly.] What made him come around, do you think?
