He called me this afternoon and wanted to see how I was doing - he was pretty keyed up after the trial. I told him I had something important to tell him, and he came over after having dinner with Re-l.

I sat him down on the couch and we chatted a little about our jobs, and then I asked him if he was happy with us, and told him to be honest. I was so nervous, I think I really freaked him out!

He said he was happy. So I... I told him I didn't expect him to say anything in return or anything like that, but I said it.

I... really did. [And now he sounds a bit wobbly.]

It's so surreal. I've never done anything like that before.

I told him I love him. And he said... well, he always takes the long route around words, but he said he feels the same way.

We're talking about moving in together.

Not right away. He wants to take things slow, wait until the fall when his lease is up. [He's a little disappointed, even if a little complacency is normal from Daedalus.] But the bright side is... we'll get to go shopping for a place together! [So excited!!!]

Of course! Daedalus hates that kind of thing. [pause] He's so modernist, and I'm so neo Baroque. We'll need a lot of help.

I think we're happy too. [And yet there's a weariness to it, a kind of defeated caution. Maybe Franz is just tired of worrying about them.]
