I'm going to road trip around the country this summer to see Steely Dan as much as I can and was wondering if anyone could recommend some venues I should definately see them in. I'll definately be at the NY area ones (The Bank and The Beach) but as far as outside the tri-state area I was wondering where else I should stop!

i saw them in 2003 in bristow, va at the nissan pavillion.
it's a huge outdoor venue with a roof in case it rains...when i saw them there was a HUGE thunderstorm, and everyone with seats in the grass got moved up.

last time there was also something about if you drove up to the venue driving a nissan, you got free tickets, but i'm not sure if that was a one time thing or what.

but it's a nice place. i'd suggest it.

That sounds a lot like PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey, except if you're sitting on the grass and it rains you're screwed. There is no moving at the Bank. Thankfully I've never had to sit there.

the Tweeter center is a pretty cool venue near Boston, MA. It's actually not really near boston, it's probably about an hour south of it. It's in Mansfield, MA, almost before you hit Rhode Island I'm pretty sure going down 95. It's much like the Nissan Pavillion described above. 3 sections near stage, then about 8 or so sections that are also covered, then some non-covered seats and then grass seats. I'd recommend trying for the covered seats though. Much better view. If I can get to a show this summer, this will be the one.

I've been thinking of going to the Boston (or should I say near Boston) show! Thanks!
