Blast From The Past.
(Warning:This is a very,very,very,long post based on the experience of a crazy fangirl who's drooling for Nishikido Ryo.(that would be me.) The following report contains explicit and insane ramblings about the concert.Please be prepared.You have been warned.)
September 27,2010.
I arrived at Tokyo Dome City. at 4:00 p.m. Once I enter the Tokyo Dome City,my excitement for the NEWS concert went up to the highest level when I heard Nishikido Ryo's solo song,"Ordinary" being played at a certain restaurant named Denny's.I passed through Yamashita Bookstore where the other fangirls are excitedly lining up.There were lots of NEWS and JE-related magazines there,but I decided to just visit the bookstore tomorrow and I might as well buy some magazines depending on my mood...
The show is going to start at 6:30 p.m. so my sister decided to eat dinner first.On our way to go to a certain restaurant in Tokyo Dome City,I instantly saw NEWS!Live!Live!Live! logo at the corner entrance of Tokyo Dome!I excitedly grabbed my camera and took a picture of it.But damn,I didn't managed to get a good shot of it since the fangirls infront of me are taller with their umbrellas wide open!(yeah,it was raining that day,and it spoiled my day a bit.Just a bit,okay?The reason of finally seeing Nishikido Ryo in person lifted up my spirits.) But still,I squeezed my way through the tight crowd and tried a few shots,but it didn't come out the way I wanted.My sister said I can still try later,but she also tried to take a picture of Tokyo Dome in a dark afternoon sky and headed off to eat yakiniku...
Fast forward.
It was already 5:30 p.m. Since it was my first time attending a NEWS concert,I suddenly became anxious.I have many "what if's" playing on my mind...Like, "What if I enter the wrong gate?" "Will I have a hard time looking for my seat?" Are the JE staff really that strict based on the rumors that I've heard?" My sister assured me that it's going to be alright.But the fact that I'm going inside the Tokyo Dome all alone made me more nervous.So,I decided to go eventhough I still have an allowance of 1 hour before the show starts. Just in case(for example) there's a long line or there might be a delay since the guards are busy checking the nags or something...Okay,I know I'm a bit paranoid,but I just don't want to miss the start of the concert even just for a few seconds or I'd die!
Okay,so I easily found my gate based on my ticket(Thank God for that!) and there was like 10 people waiting at the entrance.(If I remember it correctly.Pardon for my forgetfulness.).There were also five tables where you can put your bag for inspection,and in each table,there was a concert staff who will frisk your bag,while the security guards are watching.They all welcomed me with a warm smile.Great service they have there.Once the inspection is finish,the guards will lead you to another entrance and another staff will ask for your ticket.I gave him my ticket,the guys tore the other piece of the ticket and handed it back to me.Then,another guy will open the door for you.Once I was inside the Dome,I instantly saw the stall where the concert goods are also available.I wasn't able to line up outside the stalls where the goods are also available.There was a long line,and I couldn't imagine myself lining up while my stomach is grumbling because of hunger!
Thank heavens I saw that stall!I have a question,though.Is there any difference with the prices of the concert goods infront of the dome vs the goods inside the dome?I wasn't able to check or confirm it...Just wondering...
So...I went ahead and bought a group poster,clearfile and Nishikido Ryo jumbo uchiwa.(Oh,did I already tell you I'm madly inlove with Nishikido Ryo? I did? Many times already? Oopps,I did it again...) Too bad,the penlight is not available anymore!Booooo!!!!! I found my 2nd gate number.I saw 2 staff waiting at the door.I asked them in nihonggo if they could help me find my designated seat based on my ticket.The girl staff led me to my seat.Once I thanked her and she went back to her post,I have the jumbo uchiwa ready on my hand.While waiting for the concert to start,I surveyed the stage...There were 6 mini-stage extensions(okay,I'm having a hard time discussing it,so just think about the Winter Party Diamond stage minus the diamond replica.) There is also another stage for those people who are miles away from the stage.I think it's for the audience who at the uppermost part of the Dome.
Let's talk about the mainstage were there are humongous 6-sqaured balloons with NEWS!Live!Live!Live! logo.At 6 stage extensions,it was lighted by each members color.On the 27th,I knew I was near Tegoshi's stage since it has been lighted pink.(I'm still wishing up to this day that I should have been near Ryo's stage...)
Going back. There's this airplane balloon with NEWS!Live!Live!Live logo and with spotlight floating around the Dome.I thought it was pretty cute.And at the 2 monitors,the trailer for Yamashita Tomohisa's movie,Ashita no Joe is being shown.There were also some announcements made like rules at the concert which is also translated to Korean,Chinese and English.I looked around the Dome and I was surprised to see that most of the seats are still empty.As I looked at my wristwatch,it was already 6:15! Few minutes more and the concert will start.but where did all the fangirls go?But something interesting happened.At 6:25 pm,an army of fangirls started pouring inside the Dome to find their seats,5 minutes before the concert starts!Wow,am I just overexcited or what?!
The whole dome suddenly became dark,and the girls(including me) started screaming their lungs out.The show finally starts!6:30 on the dot!
At the six monitors on top of the stage,there were 6 shadows being shown in different colors with each of the members' messages to the fans written in Japanese.And I'm not a genius for me to read and understand the messages,but based on the other girls' reaction,I think it was good messages.Those written messages are being shown with background music for each members.I can only read Ryo-chan's and Yamapi's japanese names,so I have an idea who's who and identified their BGM's. Ryo's bgm is Akaku Moyuru Taiyou,while Yamapi is Hoshi wo Mezashite.(I think Akaku Moyuru Taiyou fits Ryo's personality.)
And the we heard a loud BANG!...The 6 circle-shaped balloons started to pop one by one,revealing each members.(and don't expect me to remember who appeared 1st and last since I suffered from excitement overdosed.)
NEWS started to sing KOI NO ABO.I didn't like the song at first when they released the single,I just bought the album since it has the footage of Winter Party Diamond dvd with it.But when I saw the PV wherein Yamapi is spanking his butt,I found the song sexy.And speaking of "Yamapi-spanking-his-butt" he also did the same in the concert,and the camera took a closer shot of his behind.He was really funny at that time.We automatically did the hand dance for Koi no Abo,and everybody is in sync!The song lifted everyone's mood,but I was a little disappointed with their costume.(With boa,sparkly and all that stuff!Ugh!)All of us were shouting "HEY A!HEY B!HEY O!" whenever the members give us a cue.I was really enjoying myself when reality finally sinks in...I was like "OHMIGAWD-I'M-REALLY-INSIDE-THE-TOKYO-DOME-WATCHING-NEWS-AND-SINGING-ALONG-WITH-THEM!" I was already hyperventilating and the show is just starting!
*Weeeek-the usual jumping with Yamapi's "ikimasu,YAY!" I don't remember much of a member ai here,since I was eyeing Ryo like a tiger waiting to attack his prey.haha!But Kei-chan like to communicate with the fans in anyway that he can while singing this song.I just love the way he adore the fans,Well,nothing much happened here,or if there's any,I didn't notice it since my eyes is glued on Ryo-chan!
*Sakura Girl- they changed their costumes into pink poloshirt with balck something.It was perfect.Of course,what would you expect when you hear sakura?You're in for surprise!It's the sakura petals falling!It was so beautiful.Ryo-chan looks so hot with his pink poloshirt and black vest.He was also wearinga long black thing on his hand which looks like a glove.I thought it was a part of their costume but I was wrong.It was for hi injury.Poor baby...I have to commend the boys for having good blending of their voices.In the part "Sakura la~,Sakura~la,Sakura la~" each of the members made some cute expressions once the camera was focused on them...What I really remembered was Kei-chan doing a peace sign on his eye,while Ryo-chan lets out a toothy smile to the audience.At the end,just like in music station,the group huddled together and Massu showed a white dove on his hand.(I'm not quite sure if it is a dove,but that's what I thin I saw...)
*Summertime-for this song they used a backdrop which is the same as in Winter Party Diamond.At Shige and Kei-chan's rap part,the fans are shouting the lyrics of course,with their cue.Fan alert.Shige Ai from the fans started with this song.
*Akaku Moyuru Taiyou-it was time for member shokai.Good thing I wrote down the sequence of this shokai.Here's the sequence(who spoke first and last.) Massu--->Tegoshi--->Yamapi--->Ryo-chan(Pi and Ryo-chan should always be together!I'm so jealous!) Shige--->Kei-chan.
*Hoshi wo Mezashite-I got goosebumps on this.It's so different when you hear this live.The penlights are like dancing stars!The 6-mini stages were raised up.
*Dancin' in the Secret-I fell inlove instantly with this upbeat song.You see,I watched the concert first before listening to their album,so I don't have any idea about their new songs...I really like this one,and I was practically singing this along with them! "~You are the one,mou hanasanai~! They were fire on the stage and NEWS are wearing balck clothes.NEWS is on the centerstage...
Member Shokai MC Part 2: Yamapi was the first one to introduce himself.I wasn't able to catch up on what he was saying.Ryo-chan was the next one to speak.He's being sarcastic towards the audience(in a amusing way.) It's because when he said "Minna,genki desuka?" and we shouted back,"Genki!" and he said "Yeah!" so we screamed back "Yeah!" as well.But we didn't reach Ryo-chan's expectations.He wanted us to be more pumped up.So he sarcasticallu immitated our weak response "Yeah..." like he hasn't taken his vitamins for the day!hehe.So at the end,we screamed until we satisfied him.(Made me fall for him more...) Next in line was Shige.He was acting like a shy boy asking for everyone's love///He said we should follow his lead,and the 2nd part od Shige Ai begun! Shige:"NEWS!"

Us:(We strained our vocal chords to the best of our capabilities...) "SHIGEEE!!!"
Shige:(closes his eyes with a happy smirk.) "Aahh~Kimochi!" Yamapi,Ryo,Kei-chan all laughed because of that.And then Kei-chan was the last one to speak. Ryo-chan(or was it Yamapi?) asked everyone to switch off the penlight. And switch it on again.Everyone obliged. You must be wobdering why Tegoshi and Massu didn't join the 2nd mc...It's because the next act is Tegomassu! (tune in the next time for this.)
Tegomassu came out in two opposite entrances while riding on an elephant.(the one that they used in the latest concert.) They sang "Boku no Cinderella." Their elephants were letting out some smokes from their long trunks.And after that the song Tegoshi said "Doumo,Tegomassu da zou!" By the way,Tegoshi's elephant had stopped letting out some smokes while Massu's elephant continues to let out enormous smoke and it was a huge puff of smoke that it covered Massu's face completely!(haha!) The screen showed Massu still seating at the elephant,with a smug expression on his face...(He was just acting,and still it was sooo funny!) Tegoshi helpled him by talking to Massu's elephant like "We are on the concert!Please stop,it's embarrassing!" and the elephant completely stopped.
*2nd Tegomassu Song-(I don't know the title since the Tegomassu song that I'm only familiar with is "Kiss~Kaerimichi no Love Song,Ai Ai Gasa and Bolu no Cinderella.But listening to all of their songs is now one of my priority...) At the tv monitors,shooting stars are being shown along with the song's lyrics.It was so beautiful...
*3rd Tegomassu Song-the tv monitors are now showing some footages from their recent concert,as well as candid photos.I've got to admit,Tegoshi looked hot in those candid photos...
Then,braced yourselves,girls!The next act is the ever funny "KoyaShige!" Ladies and Gentlemen...It's Iitaidake!
*Iitaidake-Koyama Keiichiro and Kato Shigeaki-the stage lights were switched off,and just like in Murarisuto,some written introductions were flashed on the tv screens.Then,Kei-chan and Shige appeared at the center of the stage,with their usual glasses on and with their ridiculous costumes!I instantly thought of Austin Powers when I saw them.They had this routine dance which made me laugh so hard,especially during the time that they had to march backwards with a serious expression on their faces.They reached the main stage without any accident.Then,they started with their question and answer portion.And sorry,I couldn't catch a single word on it,but what I can understand in limited Japanes is Kei-chan was answering the love confession question.He relayed his own love confession technique,and he said "Hazukashii!" in a moe way.And there's this sound of "Iitaidake!" after they answered the question.Afterwards,they have to answer another question,but Kei-chan called Yamapi who's on the backstage.The tv monitors showed Pi,and Kei-chan said(I think.) "Let's hear it from Yamashita-sensei!" and honto ni gomen,I didn't understand the question and Pi's answer.Next,the monitors ahowed Ryo-chan which was also at the backstage.Blah,blah,blah,and then Ryo-chan suddenly flashed his ever "I'm-going-to-melt-you-with-my-ero-smile..." we screamed as if there's no tomorrow. Oh,by the way,Iitadake means "Just wanted to say it." And while KoyaShige are singing,the tv monitors were playing some hilarious videos of the pair.The lyrics were highlighted just like what you see in karaoke's...All and all,this made me love KoyaShige more.Their solo this year is better than Chirarizumu and Murarisuto...Also Kei-chan climbed up the notch of my fave JE boys and Shige amazingly stole Yamapi's position because of their performance!Here's their current standing; 1.Nishikido Ryo 2.Ikuta Toma 3.Koyama Keiichiro 4.Kato Shigeaki 5.Yamashita Tomohisa

*Unknown song-Kei-chan,Ryo-chan,Yamapi,Tegoshi and Massuhugged each other,but I wonder what happened to Shige? There were globes?Or balloons at the center of the stage.And I almost got blind when I saw their costume.I was like "Are-we-back-to-the-year-where-NEWS-had-their-debut-concert?!" and "what's-with-the-sparkly-space-cowboy-green pants?!" And it's raining squirrels! Animals furs hanging on their legs,wrists,and heaven knows where!Good thing Ryo just hung it at the right side of his waist.He still carried it well.The costumes are very Massu-like.
*Sayaendou(a.k.a Shige Ai part 3.)-NEWS were riding on the big carts.It feels so good when you sing along with them while doing the Sayaendou hand dance.And the "yell-Shige's-name" part!It was legendary!hehe!And we did it without Kei-chan's cue!And Ryo passed our way!Another glorious moment!
*Taiyou no Namida-I don't remember what really happened except that NEWS were making their way backstage.
*Aki no Sora-wow.Whoever wrote this is a genius.I love this.Shige,Yamapi and Massu passed our way,and there was Shige and Massu ai.At the centerstage,6 balloons are waiting for them.
*Unknown Song-the song started with Ryo-chan,and I imagined myself right there and then that I was wearing a kimono.This is the only song which has a Japanese flavor from the album.
*Be Funky!-Good thing I already watched Troubleman.This song is fun when they sing it live!Kei-chan was having a blast while singing this.There were giant beach balls.Tegoshi was on our side.After him was Massu.
*Live-Yamapi and Tegoshi was on our side for this song.Then Ryo-chan followed.(Please wave at us more!)Didn't like the song that much.
MC Part 3.
Shige said it was raining hard outside.Kei-chan also revealed that it was Massu who thought of the concert theme.Kei-chan asked Yamapi on what he think on this year's theme,and Yamapi sarcastically said ;"What did you think from all of these?" while looking around the stage. And I don't know why Massu said later on "Is that Shige running away?" (maybe he also helped out a little on the concert preparations?) Then,they talked about their costume.Ryo said that he got scared(at first) on the fur costume on his pants.He then changed it to a much smaller size and hung it into his pants.(haha!) Then Kei-chan asked Yamaoi if he'll forgive Massu on something and Pi was like "E-Eehh?" but he said after that ;"Ore was Massu daisuki da yo!" Kei-chan was doing his job as an MC,as I noticed.He changed the topic back to Ryo-chan.He talked about Ryo-chan's parents who wanted to watch the concert and he said "Well,it's alright if you watch the concert..." he said it in a sjy manner.hehehe.(still scared of your parents,Ryo?Just kidding.I know you how much you respect your parents.) Afterwards,they talked about what each other member is being called at home?Shige answered his mother calls him Shige-chan nowadays instead of just Shige just like she used to...They also asled Yamapi,and he answered,"I'm always called oniichan!"(maybe he was talking about his younger sister,Rina...) Next song. *Fighting Man-the beat is catchy!And I like the way Massu sang it while pumping his fist.This single will be released on Ryo-chan's birthday,November 3,2010.
Another MC.(Short MC this time.)
Massu talked about being a guest in one of Doolittle's drama episode.The crowd applauded,and Massu thanked us.Then they asked Shige,encouraging him to say something about his latest work,and since there is none since Troubleman,he said "No,I'm okay!" Shige's so cute2He got good sense of humor!
*Code (the acoustic version.)-this is very relaxing and the acoustic version rocks!Okay,Ryo-chan took of his polo shirt after the mini-mc while walking to go to the main stage.He started strumming the normal guitar and started singing a song that I'm not familiar with.Then,he stopped,while looking embarrassed,I dunno if he forgot the lyrics or strummed the wrong chord.He looked like a shy angel while smiling sheepishly.Sooo cuuttee!At first half of the chorus,he didn't shout "Yeah,yeah!" instead he just sang "Yeah..." in a husky way.The camera did a black-and-white shot of Ryo-chan while singing.You'll think he's serenading you under the stars while he's singing.Then at the next half of the song.he changed his guitar to electric guitar.He went back to the original rock version on Code,and the "switch" was amazing!What a great idea!Just like what you expect from Ryo!
*Unknown Song-this song has an RnB flavor on it.This is my 2nd favorite song in the album.The "No letter contents" was first sang by Massu,and then followed by Ryo-chan.The lyrics were also flashed on the TV monitors.I have to shake the boy's hands and give them a tap on their shoulders for trying to sing "No Letter Contents" in a pronounciation in the best of their abilities...But the "L" on the "LETTER" and the "R" made it more confusing.Just a thought.How about "No Written Contents?" (Okay,just forget about it.It's a bad idea.)
*Happy Birthday-Kei-chan said about something before they started singing.Kei-chan said that NEWS is on their 7th Anniversary since their debut,and then he announced that the next song is Happy Birthday!If I remember it right,they sang this on the main stage.
*News Nippon-they sang this with much vigour,and the song ended with " Dare nimo makenai yuuki o mune ni kimi ni okuru Nyusu..." then it stopped on that part.There's no "la...la...la...la..." at the end.To thinks that's the part that I've been waiting for...
*Cherish-the whole stage lights became pink,and I silently wished that Ryo will sing the part "Mada shiranai asu no happy monogatari wa bokura de tsukuro..." but he asked us again to sing it(just like it Pacific concert and Winter Party Diamond concert.I guess he's really,really tired.) I noticed that Yamapi diapperaed before the song ends,And I knew it was time for his solo.
*One in a Million-Okay,I was expecting that he's going to sing Gomen ne,Juliet or Loveless or Crushin' on You,but boy,I was wrong!It's One in a Million! Yamapi came out and stayed at the mainstage.He had this black costume(if you remember the costume of a certain group in "You Think You Can Dance?") but he had this small pink light bulbs on his clothes while he's dancing in the dark.He was wearing shades.
*Forever-I love the song,but I don't like their costume on this...
*Snow Express- my most favorite song of all time...And again,I was expecting that they would wear the parka coat in this just like in Winter Party Diamond.But no...no...no...I don't like their costume.Don't make me describe their clothes since I don't want to remember it.
*Unknown Song-the boys went inside the 6 huge balloons at the main stage.Then their shadow appeared on thos balloons and at the top tv monitors on the stage,we can see them dancing inside the balloons.The camera lens they used here is amazing!
*Teppen-On Kei-chan's cue,we started doing the Teppen hand dance wherein you raise or flutter your hands up like a weighing scale.At that point,the air balloons started to lift up!It almost reached the fans seating at Gate 40!The fans were clearly surprised but happy at the same time because they have the chance to see them upclose...(not really close but still!)The thought of NEWS trying to reach out to the fans whose seat really sucks moved me.(Nice idea,Massu!)
*Kibou~Yell-Kei-chan said "Issho ni...!" we did the hand dance again.At the time when our hands went down at the part of the song..."Hooray! Hooray! kimi ni boku kara...Hooray! Hooray! okuri tainda Yume wo mezasu kimi ni sachi are..." the air balloons flew down like magic!I was like "sugoiii!!!" it literally took my breath away!And oh,Ryo-chan likes doing dangerous things,huh? He was bouncing up and down when they started singing "bounce,bounce,bounce with me!" He was grinning from ear to ear that I shouted "Ryo-chan!Abunai yo!" my seatmate(someone I do not know.) was also worried for him.But...He looked really really happy up there!
*Share-nothing much happened here.On the final day of the concert,on the train way home,two highschool girls were singing it,and they sound sooo cute.They're both Yamapi fan.(Okay,this is out of the topic.*Smacks head.) After Share,they were on the stage for people in Gate 30-41.Fireworks started to light up the stage,and the boys said their goodbyes...

*D.T.F.-uwaahh,I just love this song!This is my 3rd favorite song in the album!NEWS were fooling around the stage,and what I can remember while writing the fanreport is Yamapi showing off a pack of Weider Jelly.The balloons(not the air balloons.) flew and stopped at mid-air.Then,the balloons bursted with wings!I remember Koyama happily jumping up and down the stage...Whenever I hear this song,that scene kept on playing on my mind.
2ND ENCORE.
*Koi no Abo-the crowd went crazire this time.Yamapi,Massu are having a good time spanking their butts!hahahaha!!!! NEWS said their goodbyes again,and went backstage.The crowd went on chanting "NYUSU,NYUSU,NYUSU!" but the guys didn't come out.Then,there were some announcements flashed on the screen,and the people started walking out from the Tokyo Dome.
