Long Lost Summer Season 2: Final Episode: "Brand New Day."

Jan 26, 2013 21:29

The next day...

"Please fasten your seatbelts...We are about to land at the Okinawa Airport in 15

minutes..." the stewardess' voice was clearly heard inside the plane.

Nao/Seira fastened her seatbelt. After that, she turned her attention back on the

beautiful sunrise view just outside her window...In a few minutes, she will see Van

again.

And her friends.

Eventhough she's been frequently visiting Okinawa, she still couldn't stop herself

from remembering all of those happy memories and those tragic moments that happened

when she was 17 years old...

Nao's mind went back to reality when she felt the pressure in her ear when the

plane touched down the runway of Okinawa Airport. And once the plane has safely

landed, all of the passengers started to stand up and get their suitcases ready.Nao

did the same, and after almost an hour, she was already walking at the arrival area

as she waited for "someone."

"Nao-nee!Okaeri!" Nao heard that familiar voice on the right side of the arrival

area.

Nao smile grew even wider when she saw Reiko and Ren holding a big cardboard which

has "Okaeri!" written on it.

Yes,she is definetely HOME.

"How are you, guys?" Nao/Seira excitedly asked,as they finally hit the road.

Ren was driving, and Reiko was in the passenger's seat while Nao/Seira was on the

backseat.

"Still the same.Nothing much changed here in Okinawa." Reiko replied.

"Reiko-nee is right,Nao-nee.But I don't want to be anywhere else but here in

Okinawa..." Ren added.

"I bet your brother would say the same thing..." Nao/Seira replied, with a nostalgic

smile on her face.

"Oh,definetely!" Reiko smiled as well.

"Oh,by the way,do you have that "usual thing,Ren?" Nao/Seira suddenly asked Van's

younger brother.

"Sure am." chirped Ren,while grinning from ear to ear.

"There's no way that we can forget that thing, right?" Reiko asked,as she winked at

Ren and Nao/Seira.

While on the road, they just continued with their conversation, trying to catch up

for the whole year that they haven't seen each other. Nao/Seira found out that Ren

is already working as a government agriculturist in the little town of

Naha...Meanwhile,Reiko finally inherited the Noritomo's family cooking school and

Summer Inn business...

And Nishikawa Nao,who is still living as Yoshida Seira,is now running a Children's

Day Care Center in Tokyo...She used what she inherited from Yoshida Takeshi, who is

still in jail...

Nao/Seira,Reiko and Ren suddenly made their stop at the flower shop to get a

bouquet of sunflowers. And then they went back to the truck and Ren drove for a

couple of minutes more, until they finally reached their destination...

They were now inside the town's local cemetery.

The three of them stopped at a certain tomb.

"Hey,bro.Got your favorite drink here.Made by pops,of course." Ren was the first

one to greet his brother,as he laid down a small jug with their father's specially

made "Hula Twister Drink."

Ren smilingly looked at Nao/Seira.

"Remember the time when my idiot brother challenged you to drink this lousy juice?"

he joked.

Nao/Seira nodded.

"Yes. I practically shoved the juice down to my throat. I said to myself that time

that I'd rather vomit while drinking that juice than go on a date with him!" she

said in mocked indignation.

"In which you got lost and went on a date with my brother instead." Ren cracked up.

"And Van must be a lousy date as well." added Reiko.

The three of them laughed as they remembered their moments with Van.

"Happy Birthday,Van.We all miss you." Nao/Seira lovingly spoke,as she laid down the

bouquet of sumflowers on Van's tomb.

Nao/Seira,Reiko and Ren decided to sit down at the cool, green grass and stared at

the morning blue sky...

"Van is definetely watching us again...I can feel it." Nao/Seira sighed.

"Yes,he is." agreed Reiko.

"Oh,don't worry...We'll see each other again someday. But for now, just watch us

over there,bro!" said Ren.

The three of them wistfully smiled.

The END.
