Episode One

Author Notes: Life Swap and its script writers sincerely apologise to all of its fans and viewers for the unannounced striking of the popular reality series, Life Swap, from the air. Due to the recent economic crisis and the less recent writer’s strike, producers had axed Life Swap for highly anticipated Lost reruns because they were apparently more deserving of the time slot previously filled by Life Swap. However, due to overwhelming popular demand from the public, Life Swap is now back on Tuesday nights at 8:30pm.

In other words, we (jerseydevil1977 and shoved2agree) both apologise for the unintentional hiatus Life Swap took after we first posted it back in January last year. As stated on the previous chapter, this is our lame attempt at humour. Most of you found it funny, and we desperately hope that you continue to. Again, any feedback is brilliant! Especially in the form of comments. We were going to switch to third person for this chapter, but we rejected the idea and decided to keep the same format from Episode One. We are willing to explain the format to anyone who is confused but this should help you out:
Bold = Show voiceover
Italics= Cameraman/interviewer
Normal = Interviewees.

It is based on the same concept as Wife Swap. We do not own Wife Swap or the concept and are in no way affiliated. Please comment and tell us what you think and whether or not we should quit while we are ahead. Other than that, please enjoy Episode Two of Life Swap, back on the air!

Episode Two: New Lives, New Families, New Homes

ANOTHER REMINDER:

Bold = Show voiceover

Italics= Cameraman/interviewer

Normal = Interviewees.

Last time on Life Swap, we met our two contestants for the first time. Frank Iero is an eighteen year old medical student intent on hitting the big time with his currently unsigned band, Pencey Prep. For the moment he is content to just change the world one delicious Subway sub at a time. He was selected to swap lives with 22 year old Gerard Way, a reclusive art student with a passion for Frank Miller comics and a penchant for black clothes and leather. Gerard is a supervisor at Scene Cinemas with an unfortunate fear of needles.

We joined Frank as he landed in Newark and arrived at his new home and inspected the room he would be spending the next 30 days in.

“Oh my fucking god, where has the sun gone? And what the hell is that? Is that a bat? Ew, this dude has a mummified bat paperweight in his room! Is that normal? I don’t think that’s normal. Who the hell did you say this dude was? A fucking vampire?”

“Gerard Way.”

“What kind of name is Gerard, anyway? Holy shit, look at all the creepy shit he draws. This guy is not normal. You’re letting this guy near my mom? Do you do background checks?”

“.........”

“You have got to be fucking kidding me. He could be a serial killer!”

Meanwhile, Gerard was having an equally interesting time exploring his new residence.

“What are your initial thoughts, Gerard?”

“What the fuck is a cadaver?”

“……..I don’t know, Gerard. Can you elaborate what you mean?”

“I have a lecture on Thursday involving, and I quote, ‘the examination and dissection of a cadaver’.

“A cadaver is human corpse preserved for scientific purposes.”

“Fuck me. I think I’m going to be sick.”

Frank was equally unimpressed with the nature of his education.

“I’m going to be an art school freak?! I did not bust my arse in high school to get into medicine to sit in a room with a bunch of freaks scribbling on a piece of paper.”

“Wouldn’t you consider music a form of art?”

“My music is cool. I’m in an undiscovered rock band changing people’s lives. We’re going to be big. You know Bon Jovi? Yeah, we’re going to be bigger than them.”

“Really?”

“Believe it.”

One condition of the swap is that both parties agree to keep any appointments the other party has made. Frank, who has a strong passion for tattoos, had made an appointment prior to being notified of his successful application to be on Life Swap. Therefore, his tattoo appointment at Skin’s Body Art Studio is required to be kept by Gerard, who is, at the moment, living Frank’s life.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE HAD AN APPOINTMENT FOR A NEW TATTOO?!”

“It was in the contract you signed that you were required to keep any appointments made by the other party.”

“The fucking bastard. We get to meet up at the end of this, right?”

“Correct. If you both survive the 30 days you will meet the man whose life you have been leading for the 30 days and discuss your experiences.”

“I’m going to kill him. Help me figure out how.”

“…………..”

The new families of both men were not in the house when the swap commenced to allow the men to explore their new surroundings uninhibited. After one hour we introduced the families to their newest member. Frank’s new family consisted of a brother, Mikey, and his new parents, Donald and Donna Way. We interviewed Mikey and Mr and Mrs Way prior to their introduction to Frank to gauge their expectations of their new son.

Donna: “Well Gerard is a very quiet boy. We don’t hear from him very much. He tends to keep to his room.”

Mikey: “Mom, you can’t expect this new kid to stay in his room like Gerard did.”

Donna: “I’m not saying he has to! I’m just saying it’ll be strange. I’m not sure I like this. Have you spoken to Gerard lately? Is he okay?

“You’re asking me?”

Mikey: “Mom, It’s been two days, I’m sure he’s fine. He is twenty-two years old.”

Donna: “I wasn’t asking you, Michael. I asked this kind gentleman who’s interviewing us.”

“He’s fine, ma’am.”

Donna: “I am a mother, young man. I can tell when people are lying.”

Donald: “I’m sure he’ll fit in just fine.”

Gerard’s new family consisted of Linda and Rebecca Pricolo. Linda has been a single mother since divorcing Frank and Rebecca’s father many years ago. We tried contacting Frank’s father but at the time this went to air, Mr Iero hadn’t returned Life Swap’s phone calls.

Rebecca: “This really reminds me of that show, Wife Swap, you know, where two wives swap families and lives for two weeks?”

-End of Interview-

Life Swap also wishes to remind viewers that Life Swap is in no way related to or affiliated with Wife Swap or the concept.

After Frank expressed his disgust at his new room for an hour we brought home Frank’s new family, the Way’s, and introduced them.

“I’m Frank Iero.”

Donna: “I’m Donna and this is my husband Donald, and my son Michael.”

Mikey: “Mikey.”

Frank: “Nice to meet you.”

Donald: “Tell us about yourself?”

Frank: “I’m in a rock band that is on the verge of international stardom.”

Mikey: “Do you need a bass player?”

Frank: “No.”

Mikey: “I play bass.”

Frank: “Really? I wouldn’t have guessed.”

Mikey: “Let me show you!”

Frank: “Mmmmkay.”

When Linda and Rebecca were introduced to Gerard it became very clear that their new son and brother was an exact opposite to their old son and brother.

Gerard: “Hello. I’m Gerard. It’s a great home you’ve got here...”

Linda: “I’m Linda, Frank’s mother. And yours too, now, I suppose.”

Rebecca: “I’m Rebecca and I’m also your boss. Don’t think I can’t fire your pretty little arse if you piss me off.”

-Silence-

Linda: “What are your interests, Gerard?”

Gerard: “I like to draw. I think it would be cool to be a professional artist and write comic books.

Rebecca: “Wow. Dream big.”

Gerard: “………..”

Next time on Life Swap: tempers flare and the tension rises between the contestants and their new families. Also, it’s Frank and Gerard’s first day at their new jobs, how will they fare under the scrutiny of the general public and their new bosses?

Frank: “I’m a celebrity, GET ME OUT OF HERE!”

“Wrong show, Frank.”

“Shit.”

*****

Gerard: “I want out. Now. My contract said nothing about needles. Mikey, when you watch this, you will be a dead man.”

“.........”

All that and more, next time on LIFE SWAP.
