(A summary of events so far is here.)The temple was abuzz with practitioners, the brightly illuminated corridors crowded with priests, guards, and soldiers, half of them shouting commands and the other half rushing to follow them, all in a hurry to corner and trap the two rogue heathens that had invaded their holy ground. Aoko stared at the girls, they been talking about how wonderful the future was going to be. When she asked them what was all the excitment about, the girls informed her about the Celestial Sea being the birthplace of humanity and the Fuzzy Navel story. When they reached the point where some young strangers failed to stop Pesca Luminosa and destroy the Cahier Sect and the Pesca Gigantessa, Aoko understood why all them where so nervous about Kaito and Hakuba wandering arround. The brunnete girls tried to explain that they were not going to hurt anybody, but the girls where to scared to trust her.

Frustrated and unable to escape from the quarters, Aoko went to the balcony, wondering if his boyfriends and friends where going to be safe.

To say that Hakuba was less than pleased was an understatement. He -should- have known that it was going to be a bad day when Akako and alizé yelled at him for leave them behind in aviation.

More specifically, he should have known it was going to be a horrible day when they get to the main gate to face two electric guards that looked like the Japanese gods Fujin and Raijin. At least they could cut off the electrical plugs attached to their backs using Kaito's card gun and the sword he managed to find. He wasn't going to left that sword anytime soon.

Most of the time, Hakuba had a pretty fair sense of direction, but the whispers where distracting, and Kaito's question informed him that he was not the only one worried.

"I just hope that they don't I who I think they can be." Hakuba snapped back, looking around. "Do you remember the object of the table? If the maps was correct we need to to the right now."

Aoko startled, she was sure that he heard her name. But it was maybe the wind. She was looking around frantically, looking for the boys, when another of the cat girls appeared on the balcony and dragged her away.

"Are you sure it was her?" He asked on their way up to the chambers. Hakuba got silent as the sound of a fight reached their ears. Angry shouts -in japanese- and female murmurs. Yes, that was definitively the daughter of Ginzo Nakamori yelling at her captors.

They reached the door of the quarters soon, but it was locked. The lock wasn't like the ones on their world, and the door didn't looked that tough either. They didn't had enough time for Kuroba to unlock it before the guards showed up.

Hakuba straightened, getting that decided look to his face. Oh, no no no no no. Iie, non, no, not gonna do it. His mind screamed, you already broke your hand once, you want to do the same with your foot?

He payed not attention to his own thoughts, and even if he wasn't a karate expert like miss Mouri, to knock down a door like that with a kick wasn't that hard. So he do it.

Predictably, the crack of the lock breaking and the noise of the door slamming open set the girls to shrieking, and in an instant they were all crowded in a back corner of the room with shrill cries of "Heathen!!" "It's the heathens!!!"

Some of the braver women took a stance at the forefront of the flock in an attempt to protect the other girls, but their expressions changed to surprise and worry when Aoko pushed her way free. "Sister Aoko, you mustn't! They're dangerous!!"

"KAITO, HAKUBA!" Aoko screamed, moving away from the girls, "They're not dangerous, they my friends!" She yelled at them, before to turn back to the boys again. She was going to run into Kaito's arms went the crazy Priest showed up with the cloud soldier.

The large, puffy gray shadow abruptly loomed in the doorway behind the boys, obscuring the hall. The sheer bulk made it appear as if it wouldn't even be able to fit into the room, but easily as a scudding cloud on a windy day, the cloud soldier slipped through the frame and took up an arrogant stance in front of the broken door, arms folded and a nasty grin on its shapeless face. The temple girls breathed a sigh of relief.

"The cloud soldier will protect us," declared the pigtailed girl.

"Hurry, Sister Aoko! Come quickly!" the short-haired girl said, catching Aoko's wrist and ushering her along with the rest of them, behind the cloud soldier. Father Raki was waiting just outside the door, ready to take them away to another part of the temple. He gestured for them to hurry up. As the girls slipped out the door, the soldier pounded one thick white fist into the other in an anticipatory fashion. Its grin grew a little wider. And it swung one massive punch at the nearest boy without a second's hesitation.

"When I'm not prepared?" Hakuba grinned back, raising the sword. Clarisse was already batting in front of him. The detective was aware of Kaito's movements, but that wasn't the moment to place to discuss about that.

When the soldier charged again Hakuba muttered something in French kaito'd heard him say before but still he probably didn't know the translation of, but sounded either Ichi: Painful, Ni: Anatomically Impossible or San: All of the Above. Probably San. He avoided the punch and tried to stab him on the shoulder, but the sword went through the skin without leaving any mark.

The soldier's face twisted in an angry snarl, the eyes shining with the bloodthirsty rage that had been contained in the cloud that he had been just moments before. The detective was now wondering how to stop something that can turn himself into smoke.

It didn't look like it was going to be easy. The cloud soldier took another step forward, disturbingly quick for something that size, and twisted this way and that, swiping at Hakuba this time and making a grab for Kaito.

Hakuba was relieved to see that the other boy managed to avoid the attack without any harm. If his sword wasn't useful, he knew that the card gun was not going to be any help either.

The detective's brain run at miles as he tried to think about the multiple ways to stop a gaseous form. Freezing it wasn't at option in the middle of the desert. They will need to use some kind of container, crystal would be perfect but is not like the quarters had a giant glass for them to use. He looked up..maybe the lamp would work, it was big enough, and bell shaped.

Still frowning, Hakuba cut the long curtains, if he manage to throw them over the guard it will slow down him enough time to reach the lamp or cut the robe that was holding it.

The only problem now, was how to make Kuroba understand that without the guard noticing it as well.
