Taste of Chaos Live Report; April 12th, 2008
We did go to Japantown and did our thing there, but I'll leave that for another time to tell you about. XD
I shouldn't say a whole live report since I only watched from the beginning to the end of MUCC's set. We arrived there a little late than we originally planned because we kept getting lost in SF. Hahaha. Both times we ended up calling my mom so she could direct us out of the city. We arrived at my dad's at around 2:55 and left immediately for the Event Center. There was lots of people already there, but we got a good spot in line. Since we had the wrist bands we were able to go into the JUMP THE LINE line...XDD
I was shocked to see so many people there for the Jrockers actually. I knew there would be a good amount, but there was a LOT of people! O: I was happy for them! >w< We went in and we were actually pretty close to the stage. We started getting squished right away and I had to hang onto my little sister. The first band was a local band and people were cheering them on and everything...while others just ignored them and tried to push pass us to get to the front. Fucking crazy people, let me tell you that. I didn't like it at all. x___x
After was D'espairs Ray and they fucking kicked ass. I recognized most of the songs, but only three of them I knew the titles by heart and they were; Trickstar, fuyu shita riso, and Garnet. I was a bit sadden they didn't sing HOLLOW because I really wanted to see that live, but all in all they did a fucking great job. I hella headbanged to fuyu shita riso. During Garnet some people started a mosh pit, pushing each around and everything and I had to move back a bit to get my sister out of the way because I didn't want them to end up grabbing her or pushing into her. So we moved back away from all the chaos but we were still a decent distance from the stage and could see them fairly well. =)
Next was Idiot Pilot and I didn't like them at all. It didn't seem anyone cared for them. Not only that but since they were over on the other side I could not see them at all so we moved off to the side where barely anyone was but we were closer to the stage now. At this point I had totally lost Rachel. I actually lost her when we moved back away from the mosh pit, hahaha. But yeah, everyone around us were kind of like....just standing around while Idiot Pilot performed.
Next was MUCC! I kid you not, everyone around us was going crazy for them! Even some people who we met earlier (they were there for Avenge Sevenfold) said they were awesome. My co-worker even admitted to headbanging to them because she thought Tatsurou screamed rather well. XDD But yes, the first three songs I didn't know at all, but still had loads of fun rocking out to them! Tatsurou has great stage presence! : D He then came over to the side where we were and my sister and I were shouting his name and waving at him. Then I yelled, "Tatsurou, daisuki yo!" and he kind of like...paused for a moment and then smiled, doing the usual rocker sign thing with the middle finger and ring finger down...you all know what I mean right? XDDD LOL.
But yes, they then sang FUZZ and I was jumping like no other. I sang along with him too! He was so adorable with his harmonica. Hahaha. After FUZZ they sang another song I didn't know, and I was getting worried. It was their 5th song and they had not sang Libra. I seriously thought we were not going to hear them perform it. Once he was done it got all quiet and a lot of people (scattered around) were shouting "Libra!" Even my sister and I were. He was looking up at the ceiling and said "This is last song...." And there was this loooong pause, and I was shouting "Libra! Libra!" And then he said "...Libra" AND LIKE SO MANY PEOPLE SCREAMED. These people near my sister and I were like "O__O HOLY SHIT!!" because we screamed so loud, hahaha. XDD So it started and I think I head banged SO HARD. I had to take my glasses off to head bang too, lmao.
Once MUCC was done, I dragged my sister out of there and we went to find merchandise. We kind of paid attention since we could still see the stage from where we were and listened to The Underneath. They were pretty good. O: I think I'd become a fan but not hard core yet. Hahaha. We went to where the merch was and waited for someone to help us. This girl asked for the D'espairs Ray sweat shirts and the guy said there was only THREE left. My sister and I were all like "O_O!!! Can we have the last two please?" And luckily, they were both size L so they fit us! I was happy we were able to get our hands on them because I really wanted a hoodie. XDD I also bought a D'espairs Ray wristband (black one) and a MUCC t-shirt. ^__^ My sister got the hoodie and the D'espairs Ray towel.
Afterwards, we bought a huge cup of water and like, chugged it. LOL. We then went to find the Tokyopop line for the signing. We were like in the middle of the line when a lady from Tokyopop said, "Come with us, you guys get to go first." And we're just like "o___o what!?" Then she pointed to our Jump the Line wristbands, and apparently anyone with the wristbands get to go to another line that goes first. We weren't the VERY first people, but we were only like...ten people back, so we were really close! ^_^ Rachel called me and she finally met up with us in the line. We had to wait an hour! While we waited blessthefall and Bullet For My Valentine performed and we could see them from where we were. There were a few songs Bullet performed that were okay, but other than that I didn't really care for anything. XD
Then again, Rachel, Yessi, and I were too busy chatting away about the performances. A member of the staff then came around saying how we can only get ONE thing signed and...there were to be NO PICTURES. We just liked, got HELLA pissed. So far everyone I've read reviews for said they were to able to get pictures with the members and everything, and now we can not? I was not happy. It was the whole reason I brought my camera...I tried to get pics during the actual concert but failed so I let Rachel and Yessi do that while I saved my batteries for the signing, and it DIDN'T happen. We ranted to each other and everything, but we eventually got over it. We're lucky just to be meeting them, ne?
So when the signing time came, we were so excited! All of them gave us handshakes. The guys from The Underneath were first and I just smiled and shook their hands, saying "thank you" to them. D'espairs Ray was next and I wanted so badly to give Hizumi a hug! The line was moving fast though so I didn't think I would be able to. ZERO smiled at us and asked "Did you enjoy show? Did we do good?" Rachel and I were all like, "Hell yes! You guys did amazing!" and all of them were just all like " : DDDD " all smiling and happy. XD Zero pointed to his black wrist band when I came up because I was wearing a matching one, and I just smiled all goofy like because I was so happy to be meeting them and didn't know what to say. LOL. >_>;;
When MUCC came around I just shook their hands, but Tatsurou was at the end. When it got to him I asked all shyly, "May I have a hug?" and he nodded, hugging me after he signed the poster. I was so happy. *____* I told him he sang extremely well and he did his shy little head bow, saying "Thank you" before I waved goodbye. My sister also received a hug and she got her ipod signed by Tatsurou. O:
She's getting a new one for her birthday, I believe so she'll probably just put her signed one on display. LOL. We waited by the stairs for my co-worker but we really didn't know what time Avenge Sevenfold was supposed to be singing. We were thirsty, hungry, exhausted, and just wanted to go home. It was...around 9pm or something like that. We waited until 9:30 and she still had not come out and everyone we asked leaving said they didn't know who was on.
So when a staff member came by we asked and she said it's still Atreyu and AX7 wasn't supposed to start until 9:45 and go until 10:55. As soon as she said that we were all; Are you fucking kidding me? XDD We didn't really say that, but something along those lines. We complained how we're hungry and we're waiting for someone else because we came for the Jrock bands. The woman was really sweet! She gave us directions and said there was a Jack In the Box near and would probably only take us 10-15 minutes to walk there and back. So we did so...when we came back and finished eating and everything it was around 10:30. We listened to our ipods and kept talking and everything. The set actually went on until 11:30 because they had an encore, apparently. Lots of people came out before the encore and started smoking so Rachel and Yessi left to go wait by the corner where my dad would pick us up. They couldn't stand the cigarette smoke and neither could I, but I had to wait for Ash. I had to wait though because we had promised her a ride.
Once we found her we took her home and then we got home ourselves. We stayed up a little later, talking about the concert. I managed to persuade my sister to give me her alice nine. poster since it was one I didn't have. 8D;; I promised to get her something at the miyavi concert when I go, LOL. All in all, the concert was a fucking blast! My neck hurts like no other today. I woke up and instantly felt the soreness...it hurts from all the head banging! XDD I don't care though, I had so much fun! I'd definitely go to see them again! >w
