Adventure, Prince of Tennis and Me. Oh, WTH!

I think I'm being kinda dull lately. Staring at things happening around me with dull unseen eyes - it's very, disheartening. I need something to excite me once more. I need... ADVENTURE!

Well, actually, I do have my own share of adventure, what with my customary travels every weekends. Maybe I should put my photo here? Hmm.. I think that's kinda lame.

Drawing. Well, I did drew something. But to actually went out and pay a ringgit per scan feels like it wasn't worth it, for now. The drive for producing more artwork is lost. No more... mojo.

So, I went back to reading manga - namely, Shin Prince of Tennis. Seriously, every time I read that comic (PoT, new PoT), I keep asking myself, 'why do you even bother reading this.. absurdity'?

That manga basically had a kinda awkward anatomy drawings, the main protagonist is a blatant 'Larry Stu' (or 'Mary Sue' - choose your pick), the mangaka literally throws the overall game of tennis down the gutter (their tennis was preposterous!), the plot was predictable, cheesy superpowers (they have copycats, a demon, super strength, defying gravity acrobats... need I say more?) tacky moves (Who the hell bend their body like *that* just to serve the ball?!?) tackier move names (Tezuka Phantom, Kikumaru Beam, Fugue Leading to Despair, ... Oh. my. God!) a girl side character that everyone hates (well, mostly) and the manga was freaking damn long! (379 chapters and counting - if you include the Shin Prince of Tennis chapters).

Believe it or not, I steeled myself and mowed through all 400++ chapters of PoT & Shin PoT, collect all the anime episodes, watched the live action movie, and went through most of its musical where I was serenaded with horrible singers singing horrible songs (a few was acceptable though) and equally horrible dancing.

Now back to the main concern: I always prided myself with being very picky of the medium that I read, particularly manga. Now, why do I put up with all this nonsense again?

Thinking about it, I'd say my answer is begrudgingly simple, and I kinda hate myself for admitting it out loud.

2 words: HOT. GUYS.

Despite the not so pretty anatomy, the characters are admittedly cool, and cute and pretty and of course, handsome both in manga and anime. But in the live action movie and the musicals - they took it on a whole different levels. Now, imagine putting a bunch of pretty, and handsome, and cute and cool and HOT REAL GUYS in one place and asked them to wear WHITE shorts.

Then imagine them shaking their booties coz they're obviously being paid for it.

IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT IT'S SO DAMN ADDICTIVE!!!

In the end, I have to admit that I'm merely a girl inside, and a huge sucker for HOT GUYS.

Particularly HOT GUYS with potential yaoi tendency.*ehem*

Okay. Anyway, see that droolin smiley up there? Good. I made it myself just now, with Photoshop and my 2.5"x1.5" mouse. So hands off, that's mine! It's simple, so do it yourself.

prince of tennis, life, anime, me
