Full Name: Nekura Emohime
Good or Evil?: Good, as far as you can tell from his emo personality.
Appearance/Age: Nekura is 15 and is tall for his age, around 5’ 8”. Well toned muscles from extensive training, but long limbs. Messy dark brown hair with a few wisps that tend to fall into his ice blue eyes. He has the slitted pupils of a reptile, a trait left over from achieving evolution five. Strong jaw line, slightly wide nose. A scar runs diagonally on his stomach starting from the left and crossing just to the right of his belly button. He has strong hands with long fingers.
His normal (read: his clothes you hardly ever see him out of unless he’s bathing) ensemble is a pair of all-purpose khakis, leather sandals, and a fitted black tee shirt. His pockets are usually full of small supplies like bandages or daggers. Attached to his black leather belt is the scabbard for his sword, however he doesn’t always wear this as it gets in his way for fighting.
Personality: Nekura is mostly the quiet type. If you leave him alone, chances are he’ll never talk to you. And hell, even if you talk to him, he’ll most likely ignore you. Or launch into a speech about the uselessness of life and how everything is pointless. Because, you know, life is pointless. Death will come and what will it all have been for? Seriously? WHY DOES NO ONE ANSWER ME?!|!!!11one!!! *cough* Nekura likes to work alone, but certain circumstances have lead him to Sensei’s tutelage. He’s somewhat of a reluctant student. He asks many questions but eventually is told “to fix your shadow puppet skills.” In times of high stress, you will most likely find Nekura sulking in a corner.
Family: He thinks they are deceased. Even Checkers the hamster. Not Checkers!! :O He did have a mother, a father, a younger sister, and an older brother. Once upon a time long ago in a village not unlike...oh wait, that's a different story. He rarely talks about his history. Even to himself he only remembers the good despite the less than perfect childhood he had.
Animal: Silver Dragon
Evolution: He has reached evolution five once before, but typically handles evolution two with ease. He’s still trying to master the balance of power and control in evolution three. He can’t hold evolution three for too long, but can use it for quick instances in battle. In evolution three he gains the ability to use fire and has empowered his blade with this skill.
Past: Nekura’s father was a general in the Atliyaian Animal Guard Brigade gifted with the spirit of a White Tiger. His mother was gifted in the healing arts, the wisdom of her spirit mixing with her natural abilities. However, rumors of the father’s betrayal of the nation crumbled the prestige of the dignified Emohime name.
Nekura was the middle child, but gifted with the spirit of a Silver Dragon. Because of this, it was Nekura’s father’s plan to train Nekura to obtain the Animal Stones. Nekura showed a natural aptitude towards using his animal gift and fighting. He was keen and ready to learn. One day, though, a great tragedy fell upon Nekura and his family. His family was lost to him, even Checkers the hamster (Checkers! ;-;).
Shortly after this incident, Sensei found Nekura. With no where else to go, Nekura followed the teachings of Sensei. He’s been training with sensei ever since, and helping Sensei find recruits to join them in finding the rarest set of Animal Stones said to be able to grant any wish. (He was very vehemently against the American joining. He had -no- part in that. At all. Whatsoever.)
Any Other Comments/Quirks: Because of the death of his beloved pet hamster, Nekura has a very strong sense of obligation to protect any hamster. If nothing else can make him fight, telling him a hamster is in danger is sure to get his attention. Nekura has no real interest in girls (yet. As sensei keeps telling him.)

The sky was covered by a thick layer of grey clouds pregnant with rain. Thunder echoed in the distance and yellow danced across the bottoms of the clouds. There was a storm on the horizon, and it didn’t seem like it would be a calm one. Wind was already moving in great gusts across the land, disturbing the well manicured lawns and throwing about debris.
Eager blue eyes stared in awe at the dark sky. A smile spread happily across his face as he felt the static in the air. Leaning against the handle of the broom, he continued to watch the clouds move across the heavens. Storms were rare in this area and Nekura never tired of watching the deadly force of nature. There was an excitement to watching the rain pelt the ground and jagged streaks of lightning burst across the sky.
A small squeak from the front of his pocket reminded him he was not alone. Looking down with love at the furry little hamster, Nekura rubbed his thumb across its head. If a hamster could smile, Checkers just did. Most days, the child was certain the hamster was his only friend. And Nekura was determined to make sure nothing would ever happen to the little guy. He was strong enough to protect his hamster.
The soft patter of rain hitting the ground renewed his attention at his surroundings. Rain was a good thing, it meant he wouldn’t have to train for today. Most everyday his father had him out in the fields learning to fight and train his dragon skills. At times, he wished he didn’t have to work so hard, he wanted to be like the other kids he saw running around playing with each other. His father informed him, though, that his gift was rare. He wasn’t like everyone else and thusly had to live in an entirely different way from them.
Just when Nekura would feel this gift was more of a curse, he would reach a new accomplishment in his training, or he would hear that one phrase of praise from his father. That was all it took to make him train that much harder. He was more used to being yelled at and scolded than being praised for what he could do. The boy would train that much harder to reach the next evolution, find the next skill.
Or at least, he used to. Last week was the first time he had seen fear in his father’s eyes. A fear of the monster Nekura could become. Training hadn’t been as intense since then and there was a certain tension in the air. Instead of spending most of his time with his family, he was outside doing chores. His parents told him it was a different form of training.
And Nekura believed them. Because he loved them. And they loved him. He was sure of it.
