Christmas Break - Summary of the Florida Trip
So this is my first entry since leaving for Florida. What a hell of a time! I don't know what I was thinking going on that trip, seriously. It was insane! But then again, there was a portion that I actually enjoyed. Lets just say getting minimal sleep, being up and walking around in the HOT HOT HOT sun for over half of the day and going on many stomach turning rides probably isn't the best thing to be doing for SIX days straight! AHH. But, the rides were awesome and the tan I got really makes me feel better :) Lets see a day by day:
Monday: Never went to bed Sunday night... too nervous. Got to school around 5:30 AM and sat around with Adam for a while until Mrs. Formsma came and check my bags - yup I got searched :p. After that I sat around some more until about 7:00 AM with Adam until I said good-bye with him and he left and I didn't see him again for a week! We both cried... Jessica got in trouble for having a "glass bottle" with her, dumb stuff. But then we finally got everything together, hopped on the buses and headed south! I was so fricken nervous. We were on the bus that whole day - ended up getting lost and then the dang radiator broke, on our bus! That was fun. . . haha, NOT. We got everything working again after about 1 1/2 hours at a dumb Burger King.
Tuesday: Arrived to our beloved Florida after only a couple of ours on the bus (total bus ride: 31 1/2 hours). We didn't get to go to Ron Jons because of our dumb complications on Monday, costing us precious time. We did get to go to Cocoa Beach though! That was nice, I went swimming in the ocean for the first time :) We even saw a dolphin! After that we headed to The Dixie Stampede dinner/show place. That was fun. They plopped a whole fricken chicken (haha) in front of me! Good food though. Got to our rooms at the resort about 10 pm and got situated. Everyone was excited to finally be able to take showers! The rooms were so cool too, the bed sheets were all musical, the curtains were like sheets of music, the wall paper in the bathroom had jazz themes to it. It was nice. I slept pretty darn good, since I could actually lay down!
Wednesday: Woke up at about 6:30 Am and had to get ready to go to breakfast with the 240 other people in the group! We ended up going to the Magical Kingdom the first day and having breakfast with Mickey and some guy who used to play Indiana Jones. It was sweet. The food was awful.... seriously I could've drank the eggs! The Magic Kingdom was okay. Sarah and I went on Space Mountain first and then watched a show at the castle then went shopping. After we went shopping and I got some stuff for Adam, we had to go to our performance. It was fricken HOT! I hated it! I thought I was going to pass out! But afterwards we went and watched Mickey's Philharmagic Show and that was awesome. It was 3-D and we even got splashed with water. I had to sit on my knees in my chair because I had some stupid tall dude sitting in front of me :( After that I went and got a shirt that says "I"m grumpy because your dopey" on it. It's pretty sweet. Then Sarah and I went and watched the Marching Band, that was neat. Everyone was screaming and shouting and clapping for them - they must've felt special lol. After that Sarah, Jessica and I caught up with Adam and Elise (they started dating on this trip) and we hit Thunder Mountain and Splash moutain. Both rides were pretty cool! After that we went and met Mrs. Formsma and waiting for everyone and watched firworks. Ended up going back to the hotel pretty late, had to take a shower and get ready for bed. I say I didn't get to bed till after 1 AM.
Thursday: Woke up at about 6:45 AM. Early early early. Got ready to go to breakfast again. This time I think we went to ... I don't remember... maybe the Rainforest Cafe? I don't remember. Anywho, it was Epcot day. Sarah and I went on Mission Space with Adam and Elise two times, and went on Soarin once. We walked through some of the "countries" and ended up going to our Workshop this day too. We played "carnival of the animals" it was pretty neat. Got done and went to dinner at the Odyssy (spelling?). Fireworks there were a waste of time. Went back to the hotel and showered then slept!
Friday: Got up same as yesterday, went to breakfast I don't know where... haha. Today we went to Disney Quest - it was okay. Sarah and I made two virtual roller coasters - they were pretty sweet! HA. Sat around most of the day cuz we were darn tired! Bought more stuff.... at 2:00 pm the whole group headed to Animal Kingdom. .. totally wasn't as good as I thought. Went on the safari, not that great! I saw better Animals at zoo's I've been to! Sarah and I ate with my mom and her chaperone friends like my aunt and uncle and cindy. Went to "It's tough to be a bug" which was hilarous... but that'll be an inside joke! LOL. Then caught back up with Elise and Adam as the group headed back to the Magic Kingdom... went on Space Mountain again, Thunder Mountain again and again on Splash Mountain. They got us on the Haunted Manion too - pretty boring. Watched the Pre-New Years Firework which were okay. Got back to the resort late again and showered and slept like a log!
Saturday: woke up same as friday - early! Went to breakfast at the Frontier resort place - dunno what I'm talking about. And then Headed to MGM for about 15 hours! From 10 am until 1 AM we were there! Went on Tower of Terror twice and Rock'n Roller coaster twice. Watched Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid. Sarah and I slept at a picnic table - I could barely stay awake when I was standing in lines - let alone sitting down after I had eaten. Lost my purse, cried, then found it by chance thanks to Jessica and Kelly! Eventful. Stood around and watched the crowds, they were huge! Remember, new years eve at MGM is pretty popular! Met up with Elise and Adam... went on Star Wars and then got ready to watch fireworks after we sat on a bench (all four of us) and almost fell asleep! The fireworks and music were AWESOME! I don't think it could've been a better new years (if Adam had been there...). After the show we all met up and got on the bus at 1 AM until about 3:30 AM on the next Monday morning. I was so fricken excited to be home!
Well, that's my trip. Not as detailed as I could make it but it's good enough for now. Any questions? Ugh. I'm tired and I still have to type up some stuff for my Job Shadow.
