Orangish ice cream

With the recent rain, it was time to make more ice cream.

1.5 cups heavy cream
3/4 cup whole milk
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 tsp vanilla
dash of guar gum
zest of one medium orange

I strained the zest out of the mixture right before I poured it in, which I think was a good call. It came out as tasty vanilla ice cream with a strong hint of orange. Very suitable to pairing with chocolate desserts and quite enjoyable on its own. I feel it was over sweet, but that might just be me. I also think that while good, it coats the mouth a little too much. I might subtly alter the ratio of milk to cream.

Also, if you are looking for something to do with that leftover orange, I highly recommend eating it with some 70$ cacao chocolate cookies.
