Just once, actually. A friend of mine, Gaignun, was able to break into her office during a time when we were all given . . . ah, 'superpowers'. He distributed the diary entries all over time. He's gone now, though.

In your own words, I'm afraid you're not being very fucking smart. Did you read the entries? If they're to be believed, these gods created this world. And they made it according to Ari's desires. You really think they'll let anyone waltz up to her and shake her down for information? And if you disagree that these gods exist at all, I'll remind you that we were spirited here from separate dimensions and relieved of our memories. What manner of being would be powerful enough for that but a god?

I don't even know why we bother with the filters. They probably know everything that's going on regardless. But the only chance we have is to assume that they don't. There's no hope otherwise. And if they don't, then we've actually got a shot that we're not going to blow by punching the mayor in the face until she spills.

Sorry if I leapt to conclusions too soon, but it seemed to be the sort of thing you'd do. But you're right. She did have a secretary, and it was another amnesiac beamed in from fuck-knows-where. He's gone now, though. The position is open. Care to apply? As for everything else around the island, that's about the gist of it. Most of it just appears.

If you ever feel up to it and you think yourself strong enough . . . You could try exploring the island. So far as I know, no one's ever organized an expedition to see the whole thing. And before you say anything, I'm disgusted for not having thought of it before, yes. We might find something of interest -- Or we might find a whole lot of nothing.
