Happy blog!
Freedom is sleeping fantastically late on a Saturday morning. Happiness is a room with lots of bright colours, a new fluffy continental pillow and plans to see friends tonight and tomorrow.
I feel good today. My tattoo is finally scabbing up and healing (though one would think this news is somewhat gross, it is somewhat necessary) and my skin has cleared up. Yay! I have Hall Ball next weekend to look forward to…by then my tattoo should be fully healed and looking stunning between the straps of my high heels.
(Though I have all the balance of a cow in them >.<)
I do need to get a hair cut though…my hair is so dry and ratty its embarrassing. However, I do have a Survivor buff just like the one my dad had in the show, so that hides my bad hair days.
So, I’m just going to tidy my room a bit before lunch then go shopping for party stuff for tonight and tomorrow and then I’m going to kill some work. Die, essays, die! I can conquer all! My history essay is proof that I can do damned well when I choose.
Most of the time, though, I just couldn’t be bothered. I’m really going to pare down my life a bit next year. Going to only do three subjects, focus on what I love and avoid getting roped into random stuff.
Good news! It looks like Neko is finally going to be OFFICIAL! We’ll get money from SRC! Our posters won’t get taken down by CPU! We can have a stand at societies evening! Credit must go where it is due: to Tally for being the mastermind of the whole thing, Jon-san for all his contributions, Mark-san for his budget, Leslie-san for the IT stuff, to my better half for his input, to the Caterer for being the caterer and to all the nekos who signed and helped with the manifesto. The folder I handed in was slick, professional and I’m very proud of the team. We’re going to explode the societies scene next year!
Now, I just have to figure out what I’m going to do for the aikido booth next year at Sports Awareness evening. If Colin doesn’t come back, it looks like I’ll be Chairman by default since I’ll be the only Rhodes student in the dojo. The other members are all ex-students and thus cannot be on the committee. Maybe Ian and I can do a few jo and bokken demonstrations on the stage or something. Let’s hope I don’t get stage-fright and freak out and stab him in the face. That would suck.
So, the day beckons. It’s a beautiful day outside and it seems Grahamstown has finally got its act together, weather wise. Alas, I cannot swim because of the tattoo, but at least now I can entertain thoughts of it. But knowing G-Town weather, this won’t last very long. Phooey.
Fwoosh!
