Character: Masamune Asuka
Series:
OtomenCharacter Age: 17
Canon: Otomen, noun: a young man who is manly while having a girly heart.
Eleven years ago, Masamune Asuka's father left his house and family, leaving his wife with the message that he always wanted to be a woman. Since then, Asuka's mother told her son that he is a boy, and he must act like one. Flash forward, Masamune Asuka is the epitome of manliness, he's smart, popular with the girls, and captain of his school's kendo club! He's calm, rational, stoic, and polite. Everything was going fine until he falls for Miyakozuka Ryou. It turns out that despite his masculinity, he's really a boy who loves girly things - a man who loves to clean, cook and sew, who loves shoujo manga and anything cute, someone who hates scary things. It's a side of him that is becoming harder and harder to hide every day.
Asuka's outer behaviour is much as described above, but this mindset is easily derailed by something cute or by a simple tear in someone's clothing. Asuka often has to hold himself back from fixing it. When Asuka is his true self, he's a little silly, shy, and a bit air-headed. He's still incredibly polite, but he lives by shoujo manga rules, and is easily flustered when that side of him starts to seep out! He's the perfect girl, or so his friend Tachibana Juuta thinks. In fact, he's so perfect a model, Juuta has made Asuka the subject of his new shoujo manga (written under a pseudonym) - but as the girl, of course! Juuta tries to help Asuka and Ryou-chan's relationship along to further his storyline.

American summer camp. This was my mother's idea, so I will respect it. This is another test to prove myself. I'm... a man. That's why I'm here, right? I received a strong word of advice before I boarded the plane. "You will travel far and wide, both for pleasure and business." It came with my Chinese food, so it must have been a zen mantra inside my fortune cookie. The fact that Tachibana also encouraged me to go shouldn't make me suspicious. Should it?
Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Masamune Asuka - it's very nice to meet you. I look forward to meeting and passing an enjoyable time with you all. The instructions I was received prior to my arrival stated that I was only to bring the bear minimum. I suspect this was a misprint. As it stands, I brought only a few stuffed bears with me -- I mean, I didn't bring any -- w-well, these are strictly gifts for Sayre-san and the other camp staff. A proper gift of our first meeting, a gift of good will. There's no other reason for it. Honestly...
Speaking of the staff, I would like to express my sincere appreciation of the camp rules as they currently stand. The ban on sugar is odd, but suppose most people can't help themselves. Though it will make some things far more difficult to prepare than I would've -- rather, I imagine that it makes for very interesting dishes in the mess hall. S-Sex goes without saying, of course, and the mixed-cabins issue - oh, no one pays attention to that one? A-ah, I see... Isn't it a little improper? S-scandalous? Living with-- Ah, it must be nothing to be concerned over. Certainly not, or else Sayre-san would've taken care of it long ago. Much like she seems to have taken care of... Hitler? Wait, this conversation isn't over. There is still something else I need to ask.
Can someone please direct me to the cabins? It would be very appreciated, as I would like to take some time to get myself acclimated to my new surroundings before I try taking on any of the events you have planned for your new campers. I heard you had a dojo, and I look forward to expressing myself with kendo here, but I am also eager to learn how Americans do things at a summer camp. I have never canoed before, so I'm eager to give it my all. I have also read about your Arts and Crafts' hut, and -- ah, I meant to ask whether kayaking can be done alone. I certainly have no use for any hut besides the canoe shed.
Ah, sir, thank you. Your directions have been more than helpful. But have you not noticed a tear in your clothing? I would think you should likely be noticing a rather large draft by this point. I can't recognize the fabric, but the brown has come away from the green on your sleeve, and... that isn't your sleeve? ... My apologies. I don't think my needlework is quite up to this challenge... Camp is a little scary. Is everyone in such a state of disarray? Everyone except those in violet, you say. I will take those men to be my role models here, then. If they show no fear, then I am in good hands. Soon enough, I'll be like them - this place will put purple hair on my chest. My mother would be proud.
