D
I come in peace
I do not seek your tremendous fear
You must have heard
There is no illness I cannot sear
Offer me your tortured broken heart
Deliver me your anguished tears
My hands shall touch and release them
My sheer cure is sudden and ever near
I have lists of names whispered in silence
I have ways to make all these lives disappear
I reap uncertainties, I obliterate, I eagerly smite
Not only scars but also everything you hold dear
Oh, you ought to know I am always around
You must have felt my breath behind your ears
I am the one who you shall never stood up
Consider me your loyal dark chevalier
I do not care to take you in your sleep
Go find cheap doctors, healers or priests
There is no single faith able to detain me
Your ashes and dust must be my souvenir
Quickly swallow your pills to postpone me
Do Pray, have your surgeries and persevere
Try very hard until I insidiously reappear
As long as there is mortality, I shall profiteer
See, I am the only one who will really set you free
Then kindly give in to my dreary seduction
Your worthless doubts I shall make clear
Just willingly surrender your naïve hope
No one is left unscathed at the point of my spear
Blood, sweat, flesh, your body and all its gears
They are infallibly mine to commandeer
Vanity and worries have no meaning after me
So listen to my hypnotic and eternal symphony
Giving room to timeless and profound dreams
I will slowly follow you home
I will chase you down anonymously
I will seat at your opulent dinner table
I will quietly wait for you to notice me
I will openly laugh at your future plans
I will forever watch them fail endlessly
I will count your last years on my fingertips
I will let you boldly struggle and defy me
I will be the ache, the killer of any futile glee
I will lie on your bed before you start to plead
I will feed you the earth before you disagree
You will never be strong enough to face me
I am the one who will fatally bend your knees
I am the hideous thought you fought to foresee
I am the conclusion, the end of your family tree
I am disgrace fueled by loss and painful screams
I am the unseen tragedy, invincibly supreme
I could bring you comfort, yet, I’d rather mislead
Now you must come, it’s time to finally appease
Once you are dead, I shall cease your fatigue.
