not that i dont appriciate that, in the military, nothing is about doing anything to the fullest. you could do one project better than anyone could have, even someone 10 times higher than you, and still get passed up for promotion. it seems to be the assholes who say they will do something, then pass it off on someone else, that get the promotions. I know this isnt how real life works, but for the next 3 and a half years, i dont really have to worry about the real world. I just need to get as much college done like this as i can, so when i get to real college, i dont end up in the same situation, working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week and trying to do college and karate all the while maintaining my social life and my physical fitness. I really dont like having to struggle this much to find that extra hour. So while i may be halfassing alot more than usual, i am getting things done.
AND believe me i know you shouldnt halfass while building your foundation, i am still trying to correct alot of my karate because of that. But for the time being, it is either halfass or dont do it at all. And while i am not really learning anything about business, i am learning how the system works, this way i can use effective time management when i do get to college, and the real world.

It seems to me that if you are jockeying things like physical fitness, social life, and karate above your scholarly duties you don't need to learn time management. You need to learn how to appropriately prioritize the things that are really important. If the notion of half-assing schoolwork or not doing it at all is even jokingly permitted then you really should examine the idea of what really is a priority for you. Most people I know that seriously assert those things have ended up dropping out of college, failing out of college, or just deciding that they don't need it and work in a meat processing facility for the rest of their lives. I don't want any of that for you.

Personally, I sacrificed some of my karate schedule and some of my social life (but not all) in the name of getting good grades and getting a work ethic that didn't suck built up so far that it was second nature.

I don't believe that there is an organization that exists that won't reward over the top effort and quality. I do believe that even though you can cover it well, the people that are above you aren't completely stupid. They can tell half-assed when they see it. Don't fool yourself into thinking that they can't.

not saying that i hold physical fitness or karate over school at all, just that i cant completly drop the gym and karate, because thats when i start getting in one of those funks that is hard to recover from.
The gym's here close redicolously early and karate is only 2 days a week, so i have cut my gym time from 2-3 hours a night, 5-6 nights a week down to 1-1.5 hours a night 2nights a week. and as for karate im down to 1 hour a night 2 nights a week, as aposed to 2-3 hours a night 5-6 nights a week.

what really sucks about it all is i am 19 trying to do college, but i work between 60-72 hours a week on average.

I havent been half-assing at work either, i have been working my ass off trying to get the promotion for 6 damn months now, but 3 people who half ass everything, dont do any college classes, or extra physical activity have been promoted over me in that time frame. That is why i am pissed.

School is most important to me, because i know what a job is like when you have no education, you work 60-72 hours a week, constantly get degraded, get little to no respect from other people with no education, who have just been doing it longer, and all the while you make less than 90% of americans. I know what this is like and i have no desire to be in this position in the future.

I thank you all for your concern, but rest assured i have no intention of doing Anything to compromise my future. If I wanted to grow up to be worthless, i certainly would have not put myself through this 5 years of bullshit. I could have been worthless without a contract.
