annual blog update (since you asked nicely)
I am moving from Fort Benning, Georgia to Fort Richardson, Alaska. I made it 60 miles and my jeep broke down. Spent most of last tuesday (my birthday) sitting at a dealership only to be told that they wanted between $1600-$3200 to fix said jeep, and that it would not have been ready until tomorrow. Told them where they could stick that offer, got a u-haul and trailer and towed it here. Hit a deer with the u-haul. Then taking the jeep to the shop here, got lost, found a dead end in a 17 foot u-haul with a trailer, tried to turn around, got stuck, then ran out of gas trieing to un-stuck it. Got if fixed for $800 and will be ready tomorrow. Went to karate saturday morning, got beat on by sensei hartman and sensei garls took a thousand pictures and only showed the ones that made us look stupid, (just joking, but i'm probably right). Will be at karate in pekin tonight. Am leaving for Idaho to see the inlaws thursday. Will be a long trip with my wife and 2 dogs crammed into an over packed jeep.
As soon as I get to Alaska, I am going to Afghanastan for about 6 months. Hopefully I will return as an E-6 (Staff Sergeant). I am excited about Alaska and Afghanastan. I am going to an Airborne Unit, so lots of jumping out of planes.
Might be testing for blackbelt with sensei otis at camp shotokan if I have not left for Afghanastan yet. He has been harassing me about testing for about a year and a half now, just havent had an opportunity yet.
