Here are the steps to acheive this coloring!
1. Do whatever to prepare your icon base.
Crop, resize, sharpen...etc.
2. Create new fill layer
LAYER > NEW FILL LAYER > SOLID COLOR
Set to Exclusion. You may change the opacity if you'd like, but I usually keep it at 100%.
Fill with #2a0e42.
3. Let's do some selective coloring!
LAYER > NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER > SELECTIVE COLORING
BLUES
Cyan: +14
Magenta: +42
Yellow: +100
Black: -16
MAGENTAS
Cyan: -83
Magenta: +37
Yellow: -57
Black: -93
WHITES
Cyan: -15
Magenta: +10
Yellow: +24
Black: -14
NEUTRALS
Cyan: +13
Magenta: +8
Yellow: +4
Black: +2
4. Time for Brightness/Contrast!
LAYER > NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER > BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST
BRIGHTNESS: +12
CONTRAST: -5
5. DUPLICATE YOUR BASE
Right click on your Background layer. Drag to top.
Set to Luminosity at 19%
6.CREATE NEW FILL LAYER
LAYER > NEW FILL LAYER > SOLID COLOR
Fill with #df81fa
Set to Soft Light at 54%
7. SELECTIVE COLORING YET AGAIN
LAYER > NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER > SELECTIVE COLORING
MAGENTAS
Cyan: +16
Magenta: -22
Yellow: +8
Black: 0
NEUTRALS
Cyan: +9
Magenta: +1
Yellow: 0
Black: +20
